Interesting comment revealing the need for more information for some individuals, and less for others. While I admire modern clean white interiors on photographs, I find I cannot live in such a space, I had to stay for a month in an oceanfront white modern, minimally decorated house. While I went wow when I walked in, three days later I had to go and buy art supplies to give me something with more complexity to deal with. The flat ocean horizon only held coal ships which occasionally shuffled places in the queue. I am so glad I had this experience because I no longer yearn for a place by the sea, with the disadvantage of howling winds and rain and rusty metalwork details, cloudy glass from salt spray. Maybe if I had been overlooking a craggy rocky beach? But that flat never ending horizon, certainly pointed me towards hills and crooked streets with older buildings of stone, and moss and details to ponder. Great article

These designs have made me go WOW!!
This I LOVE!
Recently many designs I have seen are just tacky! Weird 'fusions' of design style. No Taste.
industrial/art deco/contemporary with a touch of Victorian era State Hospital

Garish colours, multiple textures that don't seem to align, no function, impractical and above all highly unlivable but perfect for a photo shoot.
These designs hit the mark.
This is something I wish to learn more about and has reinvigorated me. I was getting disgusted with the messes people were throwing around and calling style. People pay money for that?!

Didn't the Japanese and Chinese figure this out centuries ago? Westerners think they are so much cleverer than others
