Maybe do entry areas from the perspective of the person entering the front door?

How about a wine closet in lieu of a coat closet by the front entrance? 😜

Took a tour of a John Canon home recently.

Saw lots of these kinds of homes for sale in Lakewood Ranch on the market recently. Inventory really swelling. Statement pieces like this I think are key for guests - and winos 😂

Love all these…..I so wish I had a “real” foyer, even it it’s not super big. Seisenhauer1, our entry is much like yours! Our short wall (where you have your snazzy wallpaper) is probably a bit wider, and our ceilings are 10’, so the wall continues above a (newly installed) oak beam (and another 18” of wall) all the way across the living room….this makes an accent wallpaper impossible. We have a small table, plant and chair where you have your little bench and plant, and a stool under the windows to the right of the door, as seen from inside. Somehow, I’m still not really happy with the way it looks, but have no idea how to improve this area. We do not have a step down, so it’s really just one large room. Our door is currently white on the interior side (black outside), but we want to replace it with a nice wooden door at some point…I guess I could paint this one in the interim…decisions, decisions!
Teresa: I can’t believe your guests REFUSE to give you their coat to hang up in your closet, insisting they throw it on a bed or the couch!! That is so rude, IMO, and it’s your house, so YOU decide where the coats go! If a host/hostess asked me for my coat I would never dream of saying “no, I’d rather toss it over your couch or a bed”!! Anyway, our coat closet (we actually had 2 hall closets but eliminated one to add space to our master closet) isn’t very full, but it does come in handy…I wouldn’t want to give it up.
