I agree with the comment on gray. However, if you go on a tile hunt, you will find that gray prevails. Gray chases me while I am renovating my Hurricane Harvey house by myself. No matter what you say when you start, gray will come into your choices. The only slab that I liked for the kitchen was Taj Mahal. There you go. There is definitely some gray in it. Now I cannot figure out what to paint the cabinets as the choices are few. See, you somehow get tricked into gray!

I found the same thing while re-doing my master bath! I rebelled with cherry finish on the vanity and a quiet biscuit dappled quartz top (chorino) but did end up with black, gray and white marble for the floor and shower walls. My peeve is: subway tile!! Its everywhere and sooo difficult to find square. I ended up with a honed marble mosaic that I had installed in a diamond pattern. My secret conviction is that subway is overused and has been for many years , and will at some point look as dated as the bright brass shower-glass framing and chandelier in my (former) bath.
