The task entrusted to Weespaces was specifically to design one very large, long space that had to house four distinct spaces with distinct functions – an entrance, and living, dining and family areas. Vinithra Amarnathan at Weespaces decided to use a material palette centred around warm leather and cool brass accents, and a mixture of textures, such as soft linens, cane, grass-cloth wallpaper and rugs. The finished product is one of individual spaces that seamlessly flow into each other to create one cohesive space that is high on comfort and functionality.

The left side of the entrance is defined by a cosy space that works as a foyer. A beautiful watercolour artwork by Hiren Patel adorns the wall.
On the right of the foyer is an eye-catching credenza in cane topped off by an oversized round mirror, oozing mid-century elegance.

The area right in front of the entrance is the living room, with a large picture window. It is a clean-lined space but layered with accents and details.
The space is dominated by a midcentury modern tan leather sofa and a pair of olive-toned chairs. A kilim-upholstered bench acts as an accent piece and divides the living area from the entryway.
Adding subtle pattern is the striped rug, anchored by a trio of nesting tables.

The area at the right of the living room acts as the family room. An
earthy patchwork-inspired rug brings in subtle colour and warmth to the space, while an accent wall in deep olive serves as the perfect foil for a Gurudas Shenoy triptych.

The dining space that opens into an adjoining terrace is light and airy. A large live-edge wood table that seats eight is flanked with simple cane-backed
chairs. “The seats are in black leather, rendering them easy to maintain,” Amarnathan says.

The accent wall with artwork by Shivani Dugar is wallpapered in grass cloth. This adds depth and texture to the space.
The terrace is clad in terracotta tiles. Simple lounge seating from Loom Craft and large modern planters from Studio Palasa round off the space.
