“As a show flat, this apartment was meant to reflect a variety of client expectations. So we were creating a unique design with a ubiquitous appeal. We combined the simplicity of daily living with high-end luxury elements to conjure a space that had the best of both worlds. The final outcome was a fitting showcase of what a client could expect in their home,” says Chirag Panchal, founder and chief design architect of Ignitus Architectural Studio.

The living room continues the chic palette established by the entryway. A slimline seating layout, characterised by an indigo sofa along one wall, and a dove-grey sectional along the other, offers a cosy seating arrangement. The full-length windows bathe the room in diffuse daylight filtered through pale sheers.
“The living room maintains visual fluidity to the main door and the dining room, making it an excellent vantage point. As far as the furniture goes, all the pieces are custom-made, with most finished in veneer and melamine polish, and the rest finished in polyurethane,” notes Panchal.

The dining room demonstrates an evolution from the living room palette to a bolder look, with canary yellow and cobalt blue dominating the aesthetic. The blue-panelled wall adds textural variety to the space, while the tufted chairs lend softness to the surrounding hard finishes. A set of pendant lights add a glamorous touch.
“This is the most interesting area in the entire home. It isn’t just a dining space; it’s a gateway to all the bedrooms and serves as an organic meeting point for a family. To highlight its role, we used bold colour blocking techniques, eye-catching textures and spiffy patterns,” shares Panchal.

The kitchen lies adjacent to the dining room, appearing as a seamless extension. Its aesthetic is minimal, with broad strokes of grey and white giving rise to a pared-back contemporary shell. Reflective finishes, defined by glass-fronted and glossy white cabinets, give the space a sophisticated flourish.

The master bedroom is a serene escape. The beau-blue-painted wall with geometric grooves in punning that are finished with paint, gives the room defined character, while infusing a sense of tranquility. Pops of grey form an engaging interplay with the subdued blue palette.
“Colour can influence human psychology in a big way, and every hue can conjure a unique aura. In the master bedroom, we dialled down the colour scheme to create a restful, relaxing vibe,” says Panchal.

The kids’ bedroom features a plethora of low-height furniture, modelled on the principles of anthropometry.
“We were careful to include minimal handles and knobs to make the furniture functional and ergonomic. We employed built-in grooves wherever possible, to augment form and function,” recalls Panchal.

Opposite the bed, next to the door, lies a bijou study table, installed into the same furniture shell as the wardrobes. A hidden overhead light illuminates the desk.

The guest bedroom is bathed in earthy, organic shades, giving it a warm, welcoming feel. An imposing tufted headboard serves as the hero of the room, while a complementary window shade echoes its peanut palette. Vibrant bursts of colour, by way of accents, break the monotony of the beige aesthetic.
