After all the effort you put into decorating walls and spaces with accessories and furniture, have you settled for plain basic flush or panel doors for your home? Think beyond conventional door designs and opt for fresh, creative ways that speak your style and make a point. The following examples will give you ideas for door decoration.
1. Highlight with colours
A coloured door is a great way to create a focal point, especially with the use of a contrasting hue.

From a bright solid colour to a chevron or foliated or geometric pattern, painting the door can bring freshness to the decor instantly. A striking white-patterned design on a coral base is the main feature of this door. You can paint floral prints, graphics, motifs or other patterns through stencils onto any coloured door.

2. Go 3D
If you look closely, you will notice that 3D mouldings create a geometrical pattern on these doors. In a similar fashion, trims and mouldings can be tailored to form repetitive shapes and other door decorations. They can be painted the same as the colour of the door (like in the picture) or can be highlighted with a metallic or solid colour so the details are enhanced.

3. Express with accents
The different panels of this door feature different materials and textures – etched glass, metal, solid wood, mirror and more – in an arrangement that appears inspired by the painter Mondrian. It shapes a door apt for a modern home.
Massiv Brand
Eight weathered oak frames were used in the making of this barn-style door. While stepped trims add to the details of each profile frame, mirror panels reduce the visual weight of the door and bring a contemporary twist to the classic design.
ABRAMS
A plain swinging double-door grabs the spotlight with the help of repetitive circular mirrors, to reinforce the cafe-style feel of the dining space here.

5. Let it glow
This one-of-a-kind door sports onyx panels that solidly fill a steel frame. LED lights, fitted in the core of the door, illuminate the onyx.

6. Grille in some glamour
You can deftly boost your front door’s kerb appeal by adding a patterned grille crafted in metal. Iron, stainless steel and few other metals can be heated, turned and welded to form practically any design. This leaf-inspired grille is an apt cue in this regard. From safety to intricate door decor, grille is the way to go.

7. Bring in traditional elements
No screen doors? Your basic solid-wood panel doors can be perked by replacing a panel with fretwork or jali work in wood, like in the picture. This not only adds a traditional element to in the modern design, but also gives the doors a more prominent, accentuated facade.

8. Embrace richness with fabric
Upholstery fabric can be a great way of adorning doors with a dash of faux textures. This faux leather upholstery door is topped with an embellished push plate and brass nail studs. The thick fabric adds to the soundproofing and aesthetics at large.

9. Let the hardware do the hard work
Replacing the simpler handles, hinges and other hardware with dramatic ornamented ones can give the doors a facelift. In the case of handles, both levers and knobs with decorative details and luxe finishes are available in accessory stores and decor galleries. Go for out-of-the-ordinary finishes such as gold, silver and brass while choosing hinges and knockers too.
