We have nearly completed our contemporary courtyard style garden. Having self build the Scandinavian style Lodge to Passivhaus standards the “garden” was a building site! All clay and no soil. 190 “new” sleepers later, 30m2 of Indian Sandstone, 25 tons of top soil/compost to fill the multiple interconnected planters and of course a central semi raised pond complete with viewing window, viewing tower and bog filter we are just about there!
