Architect: Architecture BRIO
Location: Karjat, Maharashtra
Size: 300 square metres (3200 square feet)
The clean, subtle building is located on the banks of the calm river Ulhas in the foothills of the Western Ghats. To take in all the beauty around the house, the design focused on blurring the lines between the inside and the outside. The exteriors feature Indian limestone in a ‘coarsed’ pattern for the walls, which make the house seem to rise out of the ground, along with a suspended timber deck which floats above ground level and a green roof cleverly concealed by grass growing on it.
