1. Single cabinet with doors
A single cabinet box can sometimes offer the most storage space, depending on how the plumbing is routed and the available area surrounding it. (Remember that the box needs to sit away from the wall on either side so that the cabinet door can swing far enough open.)
This solution also affords you usable countertop space. In the powder room seen here, a rough-hewn wood cabinet topped with Carrara marble is efficient in the room’s 40 square feet.

2. Cabinet with drawers
This solution is similar to the previous one, but here you’re able to push the cabinet against an adjacent wall to gain just a few more inches of space, which is crucial in a tight bathroom.
Cabinets wouldn’t work along the wall in this case, so drawers and baskets below solve storage needs. Keep in mind that the two top drawers might interfere with plumbing and need to be cut shorter.

3. Floating vanity
A wall-mounted vanity can solve several problems. You can pretty much mount it and the sink basin at any height you want. Plus, the open space below makes quick work of cleaning and even gives the illusion of more space.
Still wondering which vanity is right for your bathroom?

4. Vertical storage cabinets
Sometimes the best vanity is no vanity at all. In this bathroom, an elegant marble-topped, metal-rod sink stand is a lighter destination, while floor-to-ceiling Shaker-style storage cabinets handle the toiletries.

I'm surprised no one has commented on the mirror in number 4 — either here or on the original piece featuring that “cabin” redo. It appears that a mirror was mounted over a window? Can that be? If so, it is something that would soon be regretted, I think.
...or does the mirror swing out? I cannot figure it out. It’s like that blue and gold dress thing that went around the Internet.
