office. perfect height and shape, would look excellent stacked.
office. maybe shoes?

the erosion of our front slope, and the need to maintain the saturation/draining around our foundation, requires thoughtfulness about retaining wall materials. the two heritage trees have fussy, hardy roots very near the curb, so i prefer a permeable retaining wall at street level. Betoflor or similar, to allow soft grass or succulent plantings, combined with natural terracing via erosion-control socks higher up on the slope. HOWEVER, i would love to clearly define the neighbor-adjacent edge of the property with a design like this. because backfilling is almost certainly a must (and the aesthetic fate of the rental property next door remains uncertain) a metal-bounded bed such as this could resolve the ugly bleed between the properties. if balanced with the retaining wall, it could provide the perfect foundation for a mix of screen plantings and ground cover. plus, i frickin love the goldenball, and i'm dying to plop one down somewhere prominent.
this is a fabulously showy commercial assemblage. but, appropriately scaled vessels are an interesting idea for our Geneva/Bucknell corner, where the American Elm refuses to share resources with any plantings or grass. this design element requires a level surface, which we definitely can't accommodate without serious backfilling/retaining. keep in mind for the back yard, though.
dark colors visually shrink a space. consider this when doing the wall where the tv will go. also, i like the matching door color. this might be good to do on the three hallway doors: office, bathroom, guest room. keeping the trim neat and bright. but maybe this only works with molded trims and doors, idk. i wouldn't want to dust those doors, but then dark smudges around the knobs would show less.
easy upgrade for the bedroom. panel the ceiling, and add full length curtains. get rid of the fan and put in a nice fixture. pendant or sconce lamps for the bedside.
might be the best solution for both bathrooms. frosted or patterned?
lighted cabinet interiors! do it.
wherever the TV ends up, make that wall the dark plank/bead board wall.
if we end up reorganizing the living room, and no longer use the media cabinet, maybe use it behind the sofa.
consider dark cabinets with a few glass-fronts for dishware and cups.
i can't believe how much i love a good sliding barn door. this might work well in the guest room, for the closet doors. and even the master bedroom.
open kitchen. flat panel cabinetry.
flooring and cabinet color. bead board ceiling and beams.
flooring, cabinets, and lighting.
tile, concrete, or vinyl? what is this flooring?
