Farmhouse kitchen decor
Love this - less bending!
Shiplap! Also sleek, more modern table and chairs? Where are appliances? Looks like stove vent is in ceiling....does that work?
Excellent content/advice! Subtle walls: A marble herringbone tile backsplash stretches around the hood and window, connecting the two walls and creating a pretty backdrop for shelves.Though Not a big fan of stainless steel, they chose the hood to accentuate the backsplash. “If it weren’t there, the marble tile wouldn’t show through very well,” PAINT: (Sherwin-Williams’ Herron Plume) is a warm neutral that contributes to the welcoming appeal without detracting from the design. HIDDEN APPLIANCES: keep the focus where it should be: the beautiful elements that work into the overall flow. “The refrigerator should never be the focus,” Rather than place it in a spot that would be less accessible, panels were installed as camo. Another functional piece that shouldn’t pop, a Microwaves drawer was designed into the island. Other clever storage - appliance garage next to the fridge, where the toaster and coffeemaker live, and a drawer with outlets to discreetly charge electronics Cabinets: The designer bypassed shakers. “A lot of people were doing them at the time,” she says. “They would get dated quickly.” Instead, she chose Highland cabinets that have a small bead in the center, which so...
Pretty way to decorate the "Corner" in the kitchen. Narrower cabinets and counters makes space feel larger(?) Cabinets: The designer bypassed shakers. WHICH would get dated quickly.” Instead, chose Highland cabinets that have a small bead in the center, which softens the overall look with their light vintage nod. the designer flipped the location of the dishwasher and sink to allow space to add a lazy Susan in the far corner TO AVOID a blind corner that takes up a lot of space without being functional,” Quartz counters are low-maintenance, long-lasting and lend a soft shimmer that plays with the marble backsplash. On the floor, the 12-by-24-inch tiles come in a sandy shade that provides warmth against the bright white cabinetry, while meshing with the dark hardwood floors throughout the rest of the house. Though subtle, the flooring’s pattern contributes to the watery movement the designer intended.
Challenge: The biggest workaround was the garage door, which didn’t allow the range and island to line up. Bull got creative by hanging light fixtures at varying lengths and using the waterfall edge to draw the eye toward the left and make the asymmetry look intentional. “It also helps the space not feel too planned and perfect — like nature,” she says.
Storage, lighting, bfast bar, tile, opening into GR
The stone is Macabus quartzite.
Open pine shelves display collectible crockery. EXTRA REFRIGERATOR DRAWERS (?!) under the coffee maker store snacks and beverages. Regular panelized refrigerator and freezer, at right, Pulls everything together.
Shinier finish reflect more light and make space appear larger. We can put pantry items into peninsula (like this) or into island.
Love this crackle finish...durable? See McNeeley project for more details.
Try to have one upholstered chair in GR that also works ( right height) for dining table
This island top is made of Neolithic...? Porcelain material.. Reclaimed wood wraps the large island, which is topped with Neolith, a durable porcelain material that also covers the range hood. The island sits on casters so it can be moved around if needed.
Like this a lot!
Tall skinny etegiere for storing bowls/platters (in basement entrance)? An iron bakers rack might fill empty basement entry space well, too.
Open shelf over window with white collection. Whites and glass in cabinets. Second sink and mini fridge in island.
I love this!
Good looking marble (?) top table in kitchen -- 2 stools max in our space
Warming wood elements
Niches with shelves for frequently used items, like coffee mugs.
Smaller dishwasher and angled counter (to conserve space?)
Put mugs and all equipment and supplies in one beverage station.
White melamine shelves from Lowes cut to size (fill up entire depth and measure heights of containers to vary shelf height for needs. Ledges nailed into studs below shelves for support. Rope lighting on a switch just inside the door trim (all three sides of perimeter) lights entire cabinet.
Glass slipper BM on walls. See photo for cabinet paint color.
Two toned cabinetry, cool retro (marble?) backsplash and more shallow cabinet on top to conserve space . Also like angled sink.
Rounded counter overhang?
Incorporate wine rack into built-ins or island in kitchen-GR
Use a short backsplash (that blends with wall) to make your 8 foot ceilings appear much higher.
18" vs. 24" dishwasher, so you can run washer everyday. Also frees up space for trash compactor..?
Something skinny like this along a wall where you want to conserve space.
Put a glass shelf for display or useful function (color?) in bay window. Make sure it doesn't interfere with view.
Are these expensive counters compared to other materials?
Love the brackets, shelf over vent, vintage cabs and napkin holder (where can we use these throughout house?)
If not enough space in upper cabs....
