While looking at the big picture for designing the home, many of us tend to overlook the ceilings. However, a ceiling showcasing stunning styles and intricate work can considerably affect the look and ambience of a room, add finesse and create an enviable first impression. Here are some examples that are a case in point.
1. This modern, double-height living room by Fulcrum Studio is dotted with plenty of pretty pendant lights, accessories and bright sheer curtains. The element that mesmerises the most, however, is the intricate and beautiful ceiling moulding in plaster. The motifs are a result of steady handwork, creating an aesthetic mood inside this room.

2. The sculptural ceiling design seen in this home by Shibanee & Kamal Architects creates quite an intriguing geometrical effect. The repetitive squares built on the low ceiling give depth to the room.
3. In this Moroccan-themed dining area by Moriq Interiors, the glamorous and detailed ceiling moulding creates a dazzling scape. The elaborate chandelier, floor motifs and carved chairs also contribute to the Middle-Eastern vibe of the room.

4. The double-height entrance area of this home by FADD Studio showcases a ceiling decorated with silver-leaf work that emulates tin tiles, accentuated by the flowing lines of a chain chandelier. The warm teal ceiling and the oversized mirror along with the long, flowing white sheer curtains together contribute to the relaxing, soothing look of the space.

5. Purple Architecture weaves a surreal design story inside this living room with the off-beat faux ceiling design, which extends down to the television area. The white concentric circles clash with the straight-lined light furniture and brown walls, creating a dramatic setting.
6. The ceiling of this living room by ShroffLeón is designed in a criss-cross pattern in wood. Yellow spherical glass-filament bulbs installed on each coffer create a stunning light installation, lifting the mood and look of this area. Also, the ceiling design demarcates the seating area. The embellished space adds to the earthy feel when coupled with the green wall.
7. The dominating dimpled ceiling developed by placing taslas (round basins) within the slab before casting, steals the focus in this dining room by The Orange Lane. The printed black-and-white floor, pendants and floral upholstered chairs too come together to create an unconventional yet stunning look.
