chair similar in style to one I have.
The grid pattern is a great one to try as a latticed divider, even if not used to ornament a piece of furniture.
they have the right idea.
love this electree. great idea.
Neat idea. Could work with a big wine bottle with the bottom out too. Don't know how to drill a hole in the SIDE of a bottle though. This would be neat for the tilandsias.
Now if that isn't the cutest thing!!! Love it!!!
overhead shelves between support posts, open feeling, and the rafters there but open to the next level perimeter.
What a delightful cocoon of a room this is! Everything sort of wraps around the chair, so textural and sensual you can immerse yourself in this space. Even the flooring is sculpted, and you can see the chairback wants you to rest your neck there......
Sara Susanka would call this an AWAY ROOM, being part of the main room, but also able to be private. Like a glass box.
secret stairway. Why NOT make the door do double duty? Must have about 5 hinges on it.
Idea of stretching fabric over canvas frame is a nice one to remember. I have some that might be used in my loft area.
this blue stands out, brings out the blue hazy color of the silver screening on the window areas.
love the soft yellow/peach color. Like Behr's LILTING LAUGHTER in our sunporch
end up on the couch? yes, if you are a maltese....
awwwww....paw print tiles. hooks for dog leashes. and neat as a pin. beadboard too.
raised shower/sink for dog bathing painlessly. With treats right close. And the towels.
i like the stair rails. Like tinker toys.

Where you use a table style desk, mounting cords etc beneath the top is a great way to move them out of the way.
paint the walls w/base color, tape the stripes, paint another coat of base, brushing over tape to seal edges. Let dry completely before painting accent color. Eliminates paint bleeds.
laser level and 3M Edge Lock painters tape used to get the big stripes just right. Worth noting
acrylic and LED lights, used to remarkable effect. So futuristic, what a playhouse this would make.
Love this white room, and a space-blue chair a la Mies style, it reminds me of the glacier bedroom. Diffused light makes this space GLOW.
French doors with double height panes of glass in them. Breaks with tradition and looks great.
Tiles used for support in this shelving unit, not as wall or floor covering.
I'm a big fan of anything by Mies....and the zebraskin is right at home here.
An idea worthy of a small house, making the hall into a functional room. Sometimes older homes have a wide hallway which can serve as library shelving spots.
love the spiral stair, but this room has another stair too. A mezzanine makes the ceiling height work harder. Great space.
Ah yes, the Barcelona chair...or Seville chair, my very favorite chair.
Unframed canvas is a great way to feature old art. Plus, I love white slip covers.
Well, that is one way to keep your fabric under control. As a designer, she needs to see these things more often than I would. But a neat solution where space is an issue.
I'm a fan of canvas dropcloths. Thought about painting them as a slip cover or floor cloth, but not as wall decor with stencils. Neat.
Delicate tracery of gold with the glass reflecting light high up the wall and stairwell, coordinates with the proportions of the hanging light. Really nice entry.
The curtains look like unbleached painter canvas, and so is the slip clover. All washable and quite suited to this environment.
I'm a fan of old shutters whether ornamental or functional. I have old oars too. Something everlastingly appealing about these older elements.
Dining and books make a good combination. Then that must be a wine rack at the end? Dining table serves well as a library table.
I like the book shelving, but with them all falling over, it makes me feel threatened and in danger. Nice library though.
The intensely textural curtains are so suited to this environment. Like burlap, it goes with the weathered wood decking. Makes me want to go back to my old floating camp boat.
Like the geometry of this space. The square art hanging height keeps the eye flowing from the art on the wall too. I get the feeling of squares within squares.
Ghost chairs or Lucite chairs? Like them both. Much better than those plastic stacking cheap chairs seen everywhere outdoors. This is eye catching because of the material.
LOVE that Lucite chair and the high up storage accessed by a ladder always there. And the fuzzy rug too.
How unique! It looks like a glowing fabric shade covering windows. They do appear to float. Very effective.
I generally do not like plastic shoe bags hung on doors, but I must admit that it reveals the location of pharmaceuticals hard to see otherwise. If you keep it orderly. But I think I'd toss the Christmas tree and not store it. A new live one each year is a good policy.
As the blogger notes, keeping the books in line with the front of the shelf makes things NEAT. It is the way LIBRARIANS keep the books lined up too. Neatness counts.
Before I read the caption, I knew these were from IKEA. I recognized the white pouch shape, and the shape of the hooks as well. I LOVE IKEA. Great use of space here.
I like the sink by the back door. it is LAUNDRY, but it also could be WATERING PLANTS. And minimum mess inside.
I love this idea for mounting a flat panel TV. Over our fireplace, we could not locate studs in the right place, so ended up sitting TV on the mantle. Tethered to the wall, but not very pretty. So now I have this inspirational option where I can swing it out and also access all the connectors behind the TV. Lovely.
Square square, even the lampshade appears same height/diameter, as most pillows on sofa, especially the painting. The window shade rolled up creates TWO more squares. Then we have the ceiling in a sort of "tray" effect, nice use of neutrals everywhere.
Enfilade could use small arched mirror to be third arch
