What other colour do you like? Navy blue?Coral? Do you have throws in those colours? Throw them on the couch and see what the colours do in that light. Get a shiny and a matt cushion on appro and put them on the sofa. Observe the light. Take back the one that doesn't go. Do this with a couple of items. Think in terms of that sofa takes up a lot of 'colour space' if you love the colour of your sofas, match it up on the wall behind it. then match up the light that comes through that window with a lovely light carpet. Try matching the contrast of the cushions/ tthrows with a textile on the windows that 'marries your two main colour- the couch/wall and cushion/ throw combination. Or work backwards- Find a curtain that has a sofa colour in it and then pick a nice colour out of the pattern. Then go out and find cushion throws in that shade. Next: Add jewellery: Candlestcks in gold or silver and a chandelier or light fitting to pick up the 'bling' Artwork: If you don't have a favorite piece, try doining one yourself in your two new favorite shades. Can be geometric with masking tape or a splash and dash in the patio, with lot of newspapers under it. Get it framed silver or gold (same as candlesticks) and no one will know it's not a famous abstract artist. Be warned: Frames can cost more than the entire room.
