Sue's ideas
Interesting back splash for bar counter in Living Room, and West Wall counter in Kitchen. Also in other areas of Kitchen?? Table: simple cut wood with legs that are wide at top and transition to narrower at floor. This style leg can be incorporated on Island ends/corners from granite counter top to floor.
Ideas for exterior roof over South and North terraces. I love the three beams running North to South - exposed outside. I do not want the other beams exposed; I want the ceiling of the terrace area with flat interlocking (tongue and groove?) wood. (I don't want spiders making webs between lots of exposed beams.) Question: Window or transom above the sliders on the South Terrace? Probably transom because less light and can continue look of transom located over Front Door.
Good example of cupboards with glass drawer cupboards on top. (Maybe use wood slats to make panes -- instead of lead glass panes.) Door on right side of room: use this wood pane style door (or pair?) in entrance to Living Room (to function for temperature control, as well as privacy for guests when using as extra bedroom). I like the idea that the doors to Dining Room are lead glass, and door to Living Room has wooden panes with glass. Question: should Liv Rm glass be transparent or opaque for privacy??
Love cabinets - especially the bracket holding up the high cupboards. In my kitchen's west wall, prefer stain glass with lead veins instead of one clear window pane -- because I don't want to clearly show contents. Like the door style - horizontal wood panels. Sink: prefer regular drop mounted stainless steel sink? Back splash and wall: don't want white. Prefer cream/beige color tile. Counter top: not white.
Love stain glass on door -- use as R & L panels on either side of Opening from Front Hallway to Dining Room. Love stain glass window (opaque feature) - use in shower below the see-through window higher up (which has square panes). Hardware: want something slightly different. Color is perfect. Don't like white counter top. Use granite black or rust/cranberry. Love cabinet color & style; especially end side of island. Floor: travertine. Like wood window/door trim; like "extra piece" above top-horizontal piece.
Love the round arch - use in dining room to front hallway? Love the cupboards style and knob-with-backing hardware. Want pendants with stain glass over counter/bar. (Want to keep idea of bar being higher than work counter.) Interesting chairs/stools. Like?? Use "wood column" with "wood counter" to separate my kitchen and dining area; use it to transition from Tall Built-in-China cabinet down to open walk space; narrower than width shown in photo. Love the three panel window - use this in New Living Room facing south; no window covering a possibility -- or too much sun and heat??
