I rather like the idea of open, floating, shelves above the counters on the back wall rather than cupboards, would this make the kitchen more airy and less heavy and congested? However, Samantha, you mentioned that they would get very dusty and I have noticed on the driveway side of the hose that everything gets rather dusty, rather quickly.
kitchen
love the chair
i really like the white walls and sinks and the wood and the baskets and the beautiful tile - not sure if any of this is relevant to the barn... houzz is sucking me in
dont especially like this barn door but i was thinking, would a sliding barn door be helpful in anyway where we plan to put the corridor to the bathroom, through the wall - ther may be so many doors flapping around , would a sliding one be useful? just a thought...
this shows the idea i had for all glass entrance with the barn door acting as a cover. that would be a lot of glass for our entrance way but i really like the idea of having as much light as possible from the entrance to the barn - i like the huge entrance but we do need to somehow seal the barn door to prevent mice or other creatures from entering the barn
i dont especially like this kitchen, however, i do like the idea that a counter of some kind hides the clutter of the kitchen from the rest of the room (in our case, barn)
would a circular staircase make sense? I think ive been on houzz too long looking at stairs...
stairs
i like the idea that the entrance to the barn is all glass/window in some way, with a door being part of that and then the sliding barn door acts to merely cover the entrance a little like a "storm door" - the barn door currently does not seal the barn - so creatures could come in (surprisingly, we havent found any or any evidence that they have been in the barn)
i really like the exposed ceiling - is it possible that we can leave the ceiling exposed in the barn to give it a somewhat unfinished feel and add visual interest?
the 'railings' dont block the view or look heavy
i like the ceiling - is there any way we could keep the ceiling exposed in the barn - would that make sense?
love the multi coloured tiles
wire railings again - interesting use of the stairs for books/storage/knickknacks
like the stairs
i like the book shelves
interesting - th stiaris are kind of floating gain and not a solid heavy staircase
there are the wires for the bullustrade again perhaps... i ike the idea that the loft has full view of the area bellow and the barn door
interesting idea to support the loft by attaching it to the ceiling instead of a pole underneath the loft
this is another exampls - perhaps a little more heavy handed - of an "invisible" railing and floating like stairs - not sure if this would work - just thought it might be light and airy and not heavy
like the idea behing the railings in that they are wires (or thats what they seem) nd dont not obstruct a view or light coming into building - perhaps a similar system for the loft so there is no apparent railings merely light coming into the loft area...
like the floating type stirs - probaly there's a better pic but i like the idea of a light stair that can somewhat transparent. as oppose to heave and solid
swing
