Kitchen: Notes on Layout & Overall Look
South wall with view of main part of patio/yard, and an East facing window or door if possible.
Sink in front of a window. Prefer this not to be the North facing window if possible.
Would like an eat-in nook or area. Would like sitting area for 1 comfy chair and 1 ottoman (possibly 2 chairs but really not necessary), within very easy conversation distance to island prep area.
I picture the eat-in and comfy chair areas to the right and/or left of island, but am flexible, maybe one would be across from the island but off a bit to one side, like diagonally across.
Open to the eat-in and comfy chair areas being 2 individual/separate spaces, or 1 space. Most important thing is that they're very open to/part of kitchen, but with some architectural elements/details making them feel a bit visually interesting/separated.

Like the look of the run of cabinetry/windows, and the cabinet extending down to the counter at the end.

second run at high angle to island. Not necessary but not opposed to the idea
A couple of glass-fronted cabinets that extend down to counter.
Like the overall look.Like the long run of windows with no uppers.
This kitchen is ugly but I like the wall of windows with no upper cabs, and the sink centered in that wall
*Important livability issue...the little hidden area in the corner, next to fridge, just like my kitchen--I love that. I snack all day and that's where I prepare snacks. It hides the toaster oven and the mess. Doesn’t have to be this exact layout, but a little nook near fridge and sink where I can prep ear snacks and keep a couple small appliances out of sight but in easy reach is ideal.
A second run of lowers at right angle to the island is an option

Glass door just outside doorway into kitchen might be an idea for sunlight and egress from kitchen area to courtyard
Like the overall look
Dining eat-in area is off to side (look closely)
