Glencoe House
I like the dark windows with this style of brick
Exterior stone is ok

This soaker tub is ok
I like the clean lines of this vanity setup.
I do love a clawfoot soaker tub
I like the idea of a mosaic "rug" of tile in the MBA
I would not mind a soft mosaic in the MBA someplace. Not as dark as this.
This soaker tub is ok.
This soaker tub is ok.
I do not mind the mirrored cabinet door on the side of the sink vanity
I like the open shelve in the MBA
I like the niche behind the soaker tub.
I like the detail on the wall behind the bed. There is something cozy about the room.
I like the built-ins and the openness of this entryway for the lower level
Saving for the bottom cabinets. I love this height and think these cabinets are more functional than basic lowers
Again, love the arch.
Absolutely love the dark arch cabinets as an accent.
Saving for the position of the microwave. Counter-height; not a drawer; by a counter.
I love the arch door as an accent or interest piece
I like the wide openings and arches. Shoes drawers are interesting.
Not the best photo but I wanted you to see that we used a front terrace and seating eating so that we could easily watch the kids ride bikes and play in front (we were on a dead-end street).
This highlights our desire to have ample walkways were needed. We added a covered porch on the side of the house so that guests could use the side entrance to a spare room that doubled as a changing room for pool guests. It was also close to our PDR. So, I had a great flow of walkways for guests to come from the front of the house back to the pool. Ideally we would had thoughtful walkways at the Glencoe house.
The is the 3-season room addition. The adjacent covered porch allowed us to eliminate some of the exposure to rain and snow (which i had already mentioned is important to me). I could wipe muddy paws on the porch. The outdoor shower next to the 3-season room and close to the pool.
Just as some insight into how we used the basement in our last home. We had a kitchenette installed so that we could have friends over and easily make a pizza or popcorn, plus have cold drinks. It was incredibly convenient and used often.
Here is the 3-season room that we added on when we put in the pool. I loved that we had full visibility of our backyard and the pool.
Just another perspective of the kitchen to show that we liked the openness.
Just showing that we had ample walkways on either side of the island.
My old kitchen. Not the best, but we loved the space between the counters and the island. Two people could easily walk past one another. I think the bookcase on the end of the island is similar to your suggestion that we elevate the FR-side of the island with the cooktop. I think that could work well.
I love the sink overlooking the windows and the sheer openness of this room even though many of the materials are dark. I would really enjoy a unique yet functional range hood similar to this.
Saved for the lovely stone work and inset front door.
I love this scroll work under the canopy
This is obviously a bit over the top for us but I do love the peaks and the leaded glass on the windows.
This walkway to a breakfast room could be a lovely option for us. Perhaps it could connect to an enclosed porch/sunroom.
Love this as another porte cochere example
Wow. This is a beautiful porte cochere. I would love to have something similar on the North side of the house that would connect a 2-car garage/pool cabana.
Pretty corbels/scrolls.
Nice use of lockers and seating.
Saved only for the idea of having an alcove off the MBA that would allow for the draperies to close off the sitting area, yet leave the windows themselves untreated.
Love the floor and arched windows for a porch.
I love the scrollwork on the arch.
A nice idea for the garage level service entrance.
Interesting. I saved this for the stone and interesting shape. Not sure that it applies to us.
