While exposed brick previously indicated older classical styles, this versatile element is now widely seen as industrial, eclectic and modern with a rustic edge. This accent element can stand out in your living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and even the puja room. Getting interested? Location: Karnataka, India
An unfamiliar yet ingenious use of brick tiles can be seen in this house by Architecture Paradigm. A series of weatherproofing clay tiles are used both vertically and horizontally to maintain privacy yet to allow in filtered light into the house. This textured surface on the facade reinforces the introverted behaviour of the home.

Not all sides of the room are in brick, and this adds layers to the space and brings in a certain depth. Printed fabrics, wooden flooring and exposed brick successfully mix with each other. The white grouting on the brick wall gives it a prominent look adding to the rich, textured look of the room.

Hi I live in an apartment building in India.I really like the idea of doing an exposed brick look just around the front door and 2 walls in front of our house (like in the picture)
I've read a number of articles about the cons of exposed brick including mold, insects, etc. Can I do something else which will look just as good without looking tacky? I heard about something called brick veneer.. is this a good option?
Hi @traiblazer_85.. Once the exposed brick wall is properly sealed and painted, the impervious surface does not attract molds and insects anymore. Other than that, there are plastic 3D faux sheets available in the market that replicate the look of an exposed brick wall. Brick veneers are not suitable for exterior applications.
