MVR covered area. If Baja deck and covered area were added to spa side of pool, it seems the integrity of current pool could be left mostly intact, right? And then do a drop-down covered section like in prior picture at deep end of pool, with cage extended just for that section. That would mean the built-in bar stools would be in deeper water than usual, but I don't see why that should be a problem. Also, with part of the pond-facing perimeter now occupied by the drop-down on the right and Baja deck / covered area on left, the remainder can be one single panorama screen?
Another MVR covered area (far left).
Nice covered area. Also, this is the absolute limit of how dark I'd like the pool surface to be...maybe just a step beyond the limit...
A perfect example of what I do NOT want.
Examples of what I don't like: covered area is too contemporary; deck material has no character; pool is over-lit and looks cold, institutional.
If I had the room (and $$$)......still like THIS IS IT best though.
Interesting effect using the same stone for deck, spa wall, and spa top...I think I like it! Need to lose the border around spa however...
IMPORTANT! This looks like a variant of a mansard roof. The typical mansard roof I see used for pool cages all have this large flat section in the center. Although I like those aesthetics, the flat space in the center is a dealbreaker because it would be a repository for leaves. How about something like a mansard/gambrel hybrid, with just a slight 10°-20° pitch at the center? Or would the crossbeam destroy the mansard aesthetics? I don't think so, but I certainly out of my depth here....
How cool is this? Definitely not in the budget.....
Really nice covered area....still not a THIS IS IT though.
Another MVR covered area
Covered area with character
Example of BAD deck material: too homogeneous
Interesting deck material. I really like the pastel colors, absolutely hate the square pattern.
Close up of really nice deck material (same as next two pictures).
Nice stone deck and Baja deck. REALLY like the absence of coping.
Another view
Nice interior of added covered area
