Two colors of wood used well together: 1. They are strikingly different in color, yet the lighter flooring has a variety of colors pulling in some of the deep color of the darker wood flooring. 2. They are on different levels, so there is a clear place to stop one and start the other. 3. They define different areas of the home.

Low contrast iridescence
tiling on top of a plywood subfloor is no longer an acceptable option — this practice is frowned upon and is not permitted by the TCNA or TTMAC. However, you can install a thin uncoupling mat (like Laticrete’s Strata Mat or Schluter Systems‘ Ditra) to meet the tile industry’s requirements.
