Stained Glass
We created this window using blown glass from Germany and beveling on our 1915 machinery. This window was a collaboration between us and the stained glass committee. The inspiration came from the church sanctuary, a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired building.
We create stained glass widows using a flameworking technique in which we hand make each petal and leaf. Using a mouth blown clear glass from Germany as a background gives the window a feeling of wind blowing through the branches. We have made windows like this for entryways, transoms, bathrooms and dividers between rooms.
A window we created for Tandem Friends School in Charlottesville, VA. The tree is the school's symbol and the swirling beveled glass represents the energy and activity of the students. This is truly one of our favorite projects.
