Distressing Antiquing Glazing and Aging
This piece features a heavier level of distressing. The flat portions have pin nail holes, sanded to give it a worn look. Some of the sharp column and door edges have been eased and sanded down, dented and scraped. The level of distressing can vary depending on your personal preferences. Distressing however is inconsistent and will applied randomly to give a piece character. The placement of the distressing will be up the judgement of our artisans. No two pieces are alike nor can they be duplicated. Each one is individually created.
Glazing on a lighter finish. A base stain is applied to the cabinet and sealed then another usually darker stain is applied over the lighter/medium stain to enrich the finish. The glazing would settle into the crevices of the mouldings and grooves of the mouldings therefore highlighting them. It accentuates the details of the cabinetry and adds an extra depth and dimension to the finished piece.
Aged grain of wood and its variations are highlighted. It gives it a weathered old world feel.
