open framing can look much fresher and would be brighter as shop / hobby space with a coat of white paint or primer - OPEN FRAMING FOR SURE, NOT SURE ABOUT WHITE

see how the back of this building is " at grage" that looks good and eliminates some ramp construction. YES I EXPECT THIS WILL WORK GIVEN THE SITE ELEVATION

the deck at the boat house may be very high. glass railings if you have to install railings. they go fine in a rustic setting will always have a film on them though. - SHOULDN'T BE TOO HIGH GIVEN GRADE BUT WILL CONFIRM

DOck to deck conection ??? I would prefer a large sitting area at the front of the big doors for 4 chairs, but reduce the overall deck required connect the doors and dock. less stairs the better. - AGREE

here is an example of the original building orientation. depending on your survey this shape is still in play. The roof line does diminishe the height as seen from the lake. You dont want to compete for dominance with the cottage - NON STARTER

sliding door is pretty but you would need 2 sliding doors on the end of the boat house.

Do not get a door like this - AWWWW
Q

See how the big doors tie into the deck, the deck extends around the corner to accesss the side doors! this would be similar to your upper deck layout, before ramp down to the dock. - AGREE

lower slope roof works but is not as charming as a steeper roof.I dont like the appearange of stilts, perhaps stone columns or diagonal crossing dimbers beneath the floor. something to "anchor" the structure to the shore - YES
Q

overhead door open looking at the lake. - YES
Q

deck along building ties into the dock. how this lays out will be critial
Q

long eve with overhead doors. the eve could be extended by 18 inches only over the doors to break up the length of the eve and bring the roof lower to the ground- GOOD IDEA
Q

add a door under the side light fixture. big doors facing the lake. window adds charm when seen from the cottage- YES
