All about those arches with the chamfered corners and monumental proportions.

Q

Note the window at right, the surround.

Not this exact style, but having an enclosed paved area (rather than a front yard) might be nice. Imagine this goes up to the street or close to it, and then you make your way through the gate wall to a small front courtyard before reaching the main entrance. Different style, though (something that looks less like a memorial).

Like a three car garage with one garage offset.

Like the asymmetry with balance, the tiny dormer echoing the large Elizabethan peak.

This could create a guest house-like structure separated by the "bridge".

Q

Note the breezways below the living area that is like a bridge. Also how this basically takes a single story home and lofts it up to the second story level. You get the benefits of single floor living, while having two story architecture. Only trade off is garage is on a lower level. But a dumbwaiter could take up the groceries. Very interesting. Could still have a basement below the garage, too.

Fantastic tower and Oriel.

Q

Photo

I love this.

Q

Interesting transfer from one gutter to the cantilevered gutter of another adjacent roof.

Like the house, but also this landscaping seems very nice and would take little water.

Q

I like the tower.

The engravings around the windows, and the window doors themselves. So much more interesting than rectangular french doors!

Q

Photo

If you're going to have a simple L-shaped box, this makes it look good.

Q

Photo

That two story window is incredible, and the room at the top of the tower, with balcony and big round window on side. This would be awesome at the beach.

Q

Photo

Interesting round windows above if you have a single story home with tall ceilings.

Q

Photo

I like the triple entry doors, even if only the center works.

Q

Photo

I like the arched window set against the Gothic roof pitch with A Squint asymmetrical flare. The windows themselves are too modern looking though.

Q

Photo

The tree blocks the view, but look at the way the top level of windows sits back.

Q

Awesome entry, everything about it.

Q

Done right, a large drum can work even on a smaller house like this shows. Also this is the best example I've seen of blending a drum with a more Northern European style together with otherwise Mediterranean lines. It is just a little bit schizo, though.

Q

Photo

I like this except the choice of brick.

Q

Photo

Love these deep set elliptical arch windows and the custom shutters.

Q

Photo

Like this canopy over the carriage garage door.

Q

Photo

Note the copper gutter, very nice but they keep it small so it's not too much. Also like the scrolling iron supports of the eaves, and the protruding window apron. Oh, and the shingled roof with A Squint roof line.

Q

Photo

I love the drum with all the little dormers. Great windows.

Beautiful. Love the colors.

Q

So pretty. It's a courtyard in there.
