She used a special technique to get the green look on the glassware. This is a DIY paint technique that is a form of fluid painting. “Fill a bucket with water, spray selected colors of spray paint into the water and then dip the glassware into the water. It pulls out with this great marbled effect,” DeGoey says. “There is no wrong way to do it. Spray as much of each color into the water as you want. If you get too much of one color, spray another color over the top of it. The more you spray, the more ripples and layers you will get.”
Her client likes a bench or other surface to throw a bag on for packing and can do that on this bench and on the top surface of the drawers seen in the previous photo. The bench was a store-bought item that Meisels customized with a luxe burgundy velvet cushion. “I was worried the cushion would slip, so I came up with the idea of finding worn mens’ belts to secure it in place as a unique touch,” she says.

The slim table in the guest bedroom is Alexeeva’s favorite piece of furniture in the house. “It’s discontinued now,” she says. “I had to call the factory direct to try to track one down. They then called all their suppliers around the world, and I got the last one out there. It’s very slim but has storage too.” Table: Arco
The Milo Baughman sofa and rosewood sofa table were both serendipitous finds at a local Salvation Army. "I saw this sectional stacked in a funny way, so I didn't recognize it at first but thought it was cool," says Green. "The guy working said a sofa table came in with it. When he wheeled it out of the back I could tell immediately from 80 feet away it was a Milo Baughman design. I swung around and saw the base of the sectional and realized it was a Baughman design too." Green snatched it up right away at a deep discount. "I think I smiled ear to ear the entire day," he says.
Handrail, circular bookcase. The architectural bookshelf on the third-floor landing is actually an overflow area for the wife’s extensive collection of books. This design was conceived toward the end of the project when they realized they still didn’t have enough room for all the books she wanted to keep. The bookcase actually spins, so she can easily access her volume of choice.

desk chair with George Nelson for Herman Miller Action Office 1 rolltop desk from the 1960s,” Nguyen says. “It’s finished in the less commonly found light blue, and the tambour top is a beautiful walnut that looks seamless and solid when closed.” The piece fascinates Nguyen because it’s both beautiful and clever, he says. “From the front, it looks simple, but once you start exploring, you find all the details that make it so worthwhile — things like the hidden molded wood file bin along the back side that runs flush with the desktop, or the deep, tapered drawers that look like they’re only 1 inch tall from the front,”

floor lamp e'll start out with the father of all modern cantilevered floor lamps, the Flos Arco Floor Lamp, which was designed by the Castiglioni brothers and introduced in 1962. It is included in the permanent design collection at MoMA in New York and, while ubiquitous in some cases, it looks as good today as it did when it was first introduced. Speaking of design, the Arco lamp strictly adheres to the traditional modern credo of "form follows function" — there's even a hole in its Carrara marble base, enabling it to be moved by two people with a broomstick. Additionally, the Arco light features an adjustable arc and a swiveling shade for precise light control, important features to look for in any cantilvered floor lamp.
shelves, floor lamp Another interesting version of the arc-shaped floor lamp has a shade that is adjustable in height during installation, a useful design detail. The wood veneer shade nicely balances the other subtle wooden details in the room and is a refreshing eye stopper in a sea of white. This floor lamp reminds me of a fishing pole, an interesting contextual reference for a seaside (Long Island, New York) residence.

recliner Designers Jeffrey Bernett and Nicholas Dodziuk created the recliner seen here. Bernett’s prior experience designing ergonomic in-flight seating for Northwest Airlines informed his design of the residential Flight Recliner. When upright, it is a comfortable, streamlined club chair. To recline, it uses a mechanism that takes only a modest seated thrust to activate it, fully expanding it to cradle the entire body from head to toe.

Here is the link to Christopher Guy. On his website the piece is not a mirror but rather a decorative wall accent. It comes in different style. I guess if you could find a glass shop that could cut a mirror to fix the back of the this piece that would work. Good luck. I also like this piece a lot. Let me know how it did work out for you. http://christopherguy.com/details_search.php?idt_product=2097&finish_id=101&idt_tag=40&idt_tag_child=0-44.

Prince says the dining room’s round table is “fully charred,” unlike some furniture pieces that have only a blackened outside layer that may wear off with frequent use. The table was charred at a low temperature for a longer period, without effecting the integrity of the wood. “This table can be abused. There’s no reason to worry about coasters or trivets,” Prince says. The furniture maker used a chainsaw to give the table its texture. Gissler reached out to several New York dealers — all of whom are on 1stDibs — to furnish the space. In keeping with the wallpaper’s French origins, he included a circa 1960 Jules Leleu desk and a pair of circa 1950 Jacques Adnet armchairs, all from Maison Gerard. The desk is adorned by a modernist lamp from Karl Kemp Antiques. A 19th-century Khorassan carpet from Nazmiyal fills the space while allowing the original Greek-key floor inlay to be seen around its edges. The English Arts and Crafts armoire is from Newel.
