Crown/uplighting. Easy and looks fine.

Q

Photo

Contrasting ceiling interesting idea, maybe, for a small piece.

Setup for screen wall?

Q

Photo

Sliding ladder (for pantry)

Q

Photo

More room for pool cues.

Q

Photo

Something I like about this. Simple.

Q

Photo

Just a nice room

Q

Photo

Corner soffit. Hmmmm…

Q

Photo

Soffits perpendicular to windows.

Well...I WAS going to link the NKBA Planning Guidelines, but apparently they no longer allow us to see them! You have to pay to join...not going to happen here! Plus it appears not just anyone can join... Bottom line...the NKBA recommends a minimum overhang of... Table-height seating (30" high): 18" Counter-height seating (36" high): 15" Bar-height seating (42" high): 12" Note this is a "minimum", not a "maximum". Your "counter guy" doesn't seem to know this. What about your KD? S/he should know this...

Q

Info on table/bar overhangs

Q

Photo

Potentially crazy alternative for projector right

Q

Photo

This kind of seating area by fireplace would be better. Hardwood, area rug, complementary furniture make the difference.

Q

Photo

Nice frosted partition and under a beam.

Q

Photo

Partially frosted glass

Q

Photo

Could do this with door at base of our stairs.

Q

Photo

Glass doors to gym. Dealt with weird lally.

Q

Photo

Minutiae: I like the flat piece of trim at top of door trim.

Q

Photo

The simple tables with seats could work.

Q

Photo

Just like this vibe. Built-ins and super clean.

Q

Photo

Don’t like the soffit but may have a similar issue with HVAC trunk at base of stairs.

Q

Photo

Possible chair approach with banquette

Q

Photo

Getting there. Wood (ours would be painted white) and glass.

Q

Photo

Super simple. Can put trim line across door at chair rail height but definitely need some glass.

Q

Photo

Sliding doors with lally (presumably) behind.

Q

Photo

Big barn door

Q

Photo
Photo

Like the custom Finnleo layout

Q

Photo

Drink rail all around

Q

Photo

Don't like protrusion but could do something similar built-in

Q

Photo

Ash table/bar

Q

Photo

Built in rack

Q

Photo

Banquette

Q

Photo

Like the built in but obviously not the actual bar.

Q

Photo

Soffit and soffit lighting

Q

Photo

Note treatment of columns by walls

Q

Photo

Again I like the hardwood.

Q

Photo

All white and still looks really tight. Why?

Q

Photo

Multi-section long room like ours.

Q

Photo

Surprisingly similar to what we're considering for TV part of basement.

Q

Photo

I dig all of the rooms with wood floors.

Q

Photo

Big pillars but well executed. Also look at stairs in background. If don't need pole, then could further open up bottom.

Q

Photo

Three areas-ish

Q

Photo

This one has just a "chair rail" type drink rest.

Q

Photo

Side "bar" with stools? Mirror?

Q

Photo

Very open with three areas, though don't love

Q

Photo
Photo

Don't even necessarily like the soffit choices but it was executed well so it looks fine.

Q

Photo

Ceiling and molding

Q

Photo

THIS is how to finish the pole at base of stairs.

Q

Photo

Added for squared soffits and thematic similarity (pool table, floor, etc.)

Q

Photo

Note soffit and double crown molding. More molding looks nice.

Q

Photo

Note the hip wall and pole!
