Things to avoid . . .
Too much. The chandelier/clock combo is interesting, but not so much to me.
Too much of "more is more."
Don't want to be on display while I shower.
Looks like the Collins estate from Dark Shadows.
Too "Go Big Orange."
The ugly pod blocking the view!
Too sterile.
Why??? Who could reach the controls on the top unit? Not little 5'2" me.
Living in a cardboard box . . .
This just makes me itch. Too claustrophobic for me, and too little color.
No barn doors for me, and looking up at these beams would feel, well, jail-like.
The backsplash makes me antsy.
Looks like a train station.
Oh my!
Too dark and too modern.
Too bare.
Too white.
The bed looks like it was made up with Mother Theresa's old habit.
Too sleek. It would show every bit of dust, dog fur, and cooking spills.
Too white.
Too stark and too while.
Everything is so elegant, and then there's this shabby old desk. I suppose it's a valuable antique?
The headboard looks uncomfortable. The black lamp looks dangerous and the wall art looks like an accident.
The dressing table looks like a desert mirage.
The floral above the bed is too much. And the dressing table chair has to be painful to sit on.
Room has great bones, but the leather chair and bags make me think of a boxing gym from the 1940's.
I lived through the 60's, and I'm done with shag carpets and Danish Modern. Combined with too much craftsman-style wood.
Too rustic. How do you keep the dust out of the cracked beams? The cabinet in the foreground is too distressed and looks like one of the drawers doesn't fit right.
Zebra stripes gone bad.
Those headboards are scary.
Too Moroccan.
I am so tired of starburst mirrors. Truly I hated them in the 1960's and like them less now. The seating on the brick wall looks uncomfortable. I wonder if the brick snags clothing?
Craftsman just doesn't appeal to me.
Inspires vertigo.
Where does all the chalk dust go?
Extremely distressed, which makes me extremely distressed.
Too rusty.
Looks like a storage room.
Too crowded. Very Aunt Margaret.
Too rustic.
Too cluttered.
Very Bob Mackie.
Looks like 1972 Barbie house.
Rusty chandelier, but I like the diamond panel detail.
The multiple sharp edges on this island seem to be eagerly waiting to bruise my body.
