For the pantry nook - I like this except where the sink and wine cooler are, I'd like cabinets going from the floor all the way to the ceiling. Also I want the same casing style - open it up all the way and just drywall the inside walls. I will add a stool that tucks under the floating counter and a floor basket for shoes (because we tend to keep shoes by the backdoor so we don't go outside barefoot and track in leaves, etc.)
Design Inspo #2, tied right up there with the Cohen's kitchen!! I like pantry wall; no uppers; love the hidden hood with the marble backsplash; love the mix of white/wood/marble and mix of textures (that island!); open shelves with wood above is such a nice touch; love the simple, clean lines with mix of texture/media
#1 Design Inspo! Cohen kitchen in Durham. Love the mix of walnut and white cabinetry, love the marble backsplash, and love the open shelving without uppers. Love that it feels clean, bright, and contemporary but still pays homage to MCM style with warm woods. Also I really like those low profile black cabinet pulls.
#1 Design Inspo! Cohen kitchen in Durham. I don't particularly love the glass-door cabinets above the wet bar. But I love pretty much everything else about this kitchen!
floor tile - I would love to find this tile for either the kids' bathroom, or maybe for the laundry area
no uppers - anchored by the wood shelf
cabinetry from kitchen repeated in the dining room....
whatever walnut header we put in the kitchen, could we repeat it in the dining room but lower?
If we wanted to use uppers to anchor the kitchen, then I like them white only (same color as the walls) and ALL THE SAME SMALL SIZE - longer/wider than taller
I like the walnut header instead of uppers. But for our house, because we have so many vertical lines in the wood, we'd do a marble slab instead of backsplash tiles?
Love how the shelf anchors the backsplash. what if we put a walnut header all around the kitchen with lighting underneath, and then marble wall underneath to the countertop??
shelves
See the warm glow created in this space by all the wood? I do NOT want that! :-)
cool way to reverse the color scheme in our house -- maybe put a warm wood panel with white shelves somewhere to break up all the white walls?
I like where this sink is, because then you face outside while you chop veggies, etc. In our current orientation we always have our back to the windows when we're cooking. And when we have guests over, they always have their backs to the windows watching us cook on the other side of the island. I'd love to figure out some way to change that orientation -- maybe corner seating on the island? Maybe some soft seating creatively built in somewhere?
similar ceiling situation with our kitchen - I like how the stools get tucked under the island and out of the way. I like the pantry walls and lack of uppers
corner seating around the island?
Hood / shelf streamlined
