Design Elements
The space is left very open due to the arrangement of the furniture. There are mainly curves in this room, from the furniture to the staitcase and everything in between. The curves all match up, as do the straight lines and edges in the room. The paintings on the wall add texture, as does the different paneling on the walls near the bar/kitchen area. The room uses alot of lighter colors and feels alot more casual than most rooms.
Line is used on almost everything in this room, from the ceiling, floor, walls, sink, and more. The lines all line up with other lines in the rooms. The space has been left more open due to having everything pushed off to the sides, leaving alot of room for use. The ridges in the walls and stone flooring make good use of different textures. The room uses lighter looking woods and heavier looking stones, which creates an interesting contrast. The room has almost exclusively right angles and very little curves. The colors are earthy and come directly from natural things like wood and stone.
The curves of the archways, ceiling, lighting fixtures, and vases all give the room a more open and more casual feel. The heavy-looking wood and furniture used gives it a more formal feel, however. The space is kept open and looking large because it is a foyer. It gives the room a more formal feel to it. The lines all match up with other lines in the room, even though there are both curved and straight lines present. They make the room seem wider.
The line of the room makes it look like it has more height and there are both vertical an horizontal lines on the walls. The space is very open and has the majority of its stuff pushed to the sides of the room because it is a playroom and needs alot of open space for the kids. The curtain and cover on the bench add a nice texture to an otherwise texture-less room. The room's form uses entirely right angles and strong-looking furnishings.
The room's form features almost all right angles and lines which all come together and keep everything uniform. However, the curved line on the armrest of the chair matches with the curves on the china on the table an the curves in the painting on the nearby wall. The painting adds interest and texture to an otherwise blank wall. Space-wise, the room puts alot of things in a small space making ti feel more cozy and intimate.
The different color paint on the walls separate the space into different areas with specific purposes. The room's form uses almost all right and 45 degree angles without many curves aside from the slide and the the arm-rests on the couches. There texture of the climbing wall contrasts and brings interest to it in comparison to the rest of the room. The area is divided into multiple different, divided spaces without having a physical barrier which is achieved by groupin the furniture together in the way it is. There are lines going in different directions, but they are all parallel with at least a few other lines. They make sense and separate the room into different areas.
Line is used primarily on the wooden-log walls, the stairs, the kitchen appliances, the tiling and the wine rack. All of these lines are parallel to other ones and go in straight, uncurved lines. Texture is used mainly on the stone walls. The space is made to look larger than it really is by putting alot of small things in the space and leaving larger, open areas like in front of the sink and behind the stairs. Form is used by having many right and 45 degree angles, as well s using primarily strong woods and stone. The colors are all very natural and rough-looking.
The space seems very close and personal, without seeming confined and uncomfortable due to the arrangement of the furniture. There are mainly right angles and heavy objects, with s a few curved ones that come together with eachother like the armchair and the vases. The stone on the fireplace adds a different texture that gives the room a more natural look. There are mainly straight lines that work together both horizontally and vertically.
