Imagine this is our new layout - orientation turns 90° and lengthwise faces the backyard! Means the existing wall where the sink is currently moves out 5 feet further into back yard. Opens up access from kitchen to guest wing suite hallway and bathroom near lower right photo end of photo. Screens off repurposed eating area and existing powder that becomes part of mud room, garage, mother-in-law suite... Love the ceiling connection from kitchen to great room
Butcher block! Multiple islands. Warm/cool ... Would like area of butcher block counter/mobile isle. Multiple islands= stations
If the current kitchen is turned to horizontally face the backyard... The island on the right side of the kitchen is actually the current bearing wall to the family room. It is improved to include counter or cabinet or equipment on the side facing kitchen, and includes access to the outdoors and guest suite. The stove wall has a butlers pantry on the other side, and access to garage, mud room, front of house.
