Daltile calls its new warmer neutral palette “Cozy Essentials,” in shades that bring harmony and balance to a space. Its new Enlite porcelain tile mimics the subtle tones of natural stone in a 15-by-30-inch tile and random linear mosaics. Shown on the floor above is the large-scale Enlite tile called Illuminate.

The renovated mudroom now features brick flooring laid in a herringbone pattern, white shiplap walls and ceiling, a custom built-in bench, two tall closets and cabinet drawers.
A close-up image of the drawers highlight the leather-wrapped brass pulls. A piece of white oak atop the cabinet provides another solid surface for placing keys and a catchall.

Seating at the dining table is a mix of molded plastic chairs and a pew from a Chicago church. “At this messy age, plastic chairs are perfect for us,” Elise says. The bench wasn’t easy to get out of the church and had to be cut to fit the current space. The couple appropriately preserved the sign that says it’s reserved for families with children.

Love the idea of the bench and shelves built around the window in the dining room. Also love the chairs.
The beadboard is another subtle coastal touch, while the herringbone brick-look floors add a casual farmhouse feel. “The mudroom floor is actually a porcelain tile that is made to look like a brick — it’s so good — it’s durable, beautiful and hides dirt.”
