Sowell Residence
i like the more ornate drive apron and transition to simple material.
i like the stone edging and path breaking up the asphalt drive sections
i like the exposed timber framing, rafters, purlins, etc.
i like the wood porch surface, tapered columns and the windows
i like to shelves incorporated into the stone, the bold red stove color is great as well
stove adjacent to seating would be nice!
i like the brick "hearth" and the style of stove, with cooking surfaces and top access to add wood if desired
I like the decorative tile wall as non-combustible material
i like the small footprint of the stove and incorporated log storage
lattice gable vent
the beam over porch with shallow angled cut meeting at the center point
low shed dormer and mix of metal and shingled roof material
Standing seam is beautiful
everything about this screened porch with fireplace!
simple color accents at window head
the stone band (watertable?) is a nice way to dress up the front façade
cladding, trim/casing, and window color combination is nice because it is light but earthy
wood soffit at front porch
brackets at gable end eaves
bump out with unique cladding
the idea of having asymmetrical gothic arched window or stained glass accent window is fun
the window and door casing is nicely detailed but not too ornate
the lower floor looks like a great craftsman style garage entry
I like the changes in depth of the façade
I like the symmetry of the door-windows, also the small light hanging above the door
tall narrow windows with divided lites over a open lite, the porch and column base are nice as well (stacked fieldstone look)
decorative rafter tails
Low front porch, no guardrail
The tapered columns and division of cladding areas (bottom, middle, top)
covered porch big enough to have seating space, also full width of house
The variety of cladding materials and the tapered columns
Floor, finishes, colors, cabinets, lighting
