SR: 8/24-- this rug is no longer available unfortunately. SR: I am playing with some colorful rugs and fabrics in your space. Can you give me feedback on the following images. What do you like, dislike, prefer, etc? AO: I like this one, love the variety of color and I like the pattern. SR? Great...love the pink and the orange combined. AO: Ernest liked this one particularly as well, along with the blue/orange.
SR: I know you didn't love the more modern geometric look before, but the whole team still loves this rug especially with your pink glass chandelier. And this lovely plaid pillow you have, it would be amazing. Thoughts? Still a no for you? AO: This one is a little better than the geometric one below (probably west elm? with the diamond shapes). I like that it's a little more chaotic. It is possible to see it in the model?
I followed an email link and ended up on Rejuvenation's website and saw this rug. I don't know about a black background but the green and pink notes caught my eye so popping a screenshot up here! SR: The rug for the living room is large, it's 10' x 14' and this one doesn't get that big. So, I'll look and suggest a few things soon.
AO: Here are 3 paintings we purchased while in VA. They are all relatively small and can be tucked onto the art wall or wherever ends up suiting best - just wanted to take pictures of them to go with the other images you have. This was all evening lighting so please let me know if you'd prefer a daytime image! SR: LOVE!!
SR: One of you added the image with the locker room area with grey wood doors, did you want me to see something in that image? AO: I didn't add it, I thought you did! Or if I did add it, it was by accident. Sorry about that! The color is similar to our storage area next to the garage doorway, but otherwise I have no idea what happened there!
SR: Thoughts? AO: Interesting! I'm not entirely sure what to think. I kind of like the 3D look to it? It seems like a great way to make a pretty neutral rug a little more interesting. I think I'd have to see it in context to be sure. SR: Thanks...just gauging what interests you and how you feel about various patterns.
SR: A couple more...keeping in mind that your artwork has a lot of color and movement, I may want to go more quiet on the rug. AO: The colors on this one feel a little Southwest to me - they're pleasant but that's never been my style. I think this pattern might be a little too abstract and large for me. SR: Got it thanks!
SR: Again, rugs/fabric thoughts? AO: This is almost identical to an old rug of ours! I like the colors and always liked the thin stripe. SR: I love all the colors in this and it's good for hiding a lot in a busy family space. Thanks. AO: Update here, Ernest recognized it and is not as big of a fan. SR: Ok got it. Thank you!
SR: Again, rugs/fabric thoughts? AO: Is this one navy or dark grey? I'd say it's a little plain for a rug. I've always gone with more color variation for practicality as well as attractiveness. but if it is upholstery fabric it makes more sense. SR: It is navy, and it is a rug from West Elm. I put it in possibly for the area near the fireplace, because that stone is "busy" and I don't want a busy rug there.
SR: Again, rugs/fabric thoughts? AO: Always love traditional rugs! The blues in this are really pretty. SR: I LOVE this rug...it picks up on the oranges in your artwork too. And the yellow of the small sofa. It looks pretty amazing in the space too. AO: Ernest likes this one as well. I think we're both preferring these patterns over the more abstract...we have a kind of modern space but I think we're both leaning toward some sort of European Old World vibe with preferences! SR: Great...thank you!
beautiful and interesting. SR: So glad to see how much color you like. Fun! AO: Ha! I didn't realize I had moved this picture over. I think this is a lovely combination, the green on the walls is so pretty and the chair is a really interesting shade of pink. As drawn as I am to a picture like this, I'm not sure it would have enough light for me throughout the day. But it is so pretty and I love how the lighter wood and future stand out against the green.
SR: Colorful living space. Lots of blue and wood tones. AO: I really like this picture. It's interesting, I like the mix of forms, patterns, and color, and I do like the wood beams at the top of the room. I asked Ernest specifically about that element and he's open to it, but not as excited as I thought he might be. His reaction to this picture was "easy to get cluttered." SR: I understand his point, but I do love the blue and the pops of color in this space.
SR: I know you would need more kid friendly fabrics on any sofa or rugs like this...but this feels like a combo of warmth and blues/greens to me...with a touch of your pink from your favorite chandelier. AO: I think "neutral" when I see this, though you're right and I do like the infusion of pink on the pillow and flowers. The lighter colored sofa is such a great background. SR: Great. thank you
SR: I love the combo of gold, blue and warm leather and wood in this image. Not necessarily your house style but trying to get a feel for your color preferences as well. AO: I like this combination, too. It's very soothing and comfortable. And I always have had a strong preference for stained wood furniture. SR: Great, got it.
SR: This is warm and colorful but with more of a gold/brown tone to the pieces vs. blue/green. Thoughts? AO: I like the green and pink together especially, and had looked up that color combo on Houzz when I was searching images. Ernest loves 70s decor (what?!) and really likes this. I am a little hesitant about a lot of yellow, but definitely open to some! SR: It's such a warm space but gold might not be the sofa I'd choose for you, so we agree. :)
SR: Color galore...too much? Or fun? AO: Ernest and I both liked this picture. The blue sofa is a wrong blue to me - a little sharp, it's pulling the eye a little too much. But overall we both like the mix of colors and patterns. The piano looks awfully similar to ours in our basement... :). SR: The blue sofa is jarring, but this is a great space overall.
SR: This feels a little like the color on your floor and the walls are light, but the furniture feels warm colorful and slightly patterned. Thoughts? AO: When I first looked at the picture my thought is "neutral," but the mix of shades and distribution of color makes it interesting. I agree the furniture looks cozy! SR: Too toned down for you, I understand.
SR: How much color appeals to you...is this too much? AO: I'm not sure I'm an orange sofa person, but in general, no this is not too much color! I love vibrant colors. SY and I talked a little about color in the initial consultation. I prefer cool tones but love them to be well saturated and with warm undertones. I don't like sharp or harsh colors. That's a pretty shade of orange as they go.. SR: Thanks.
SR: Nice neutral palette with pops of color. AO: Sorry to put this on the same line, every time I hit enter I seem to delete your comment! This is a pleasant picture and I like the mix of shapes. I think without the black fireplace it would be a little too neutral for me. SR: This is exactly how you should put your notes in, so I can see the back and forth conversation. Thank you.
The white sofa is a little scary, but I love the color on the walls! Reminds me of an old Restoration Hardware color. I like the mix of patterns and colors. SR: Wall color is exceptional. Thanks for the feedback.
AO: I like the color combination here, especially with natural materials like the wood table and the leather pillow. SR: I love the warm wood tone too. Blue is definitely a color you are drawn to along with green so I thought this color palette might appeal to you.
AO: I like the more natural materials in this picture. Sorry if I deleted your comment here!! I'll try to do better on the other pictures! SR: Maybe a little pale for you I think now that I've seen other images you liked. Thanks.
SR: Here it is in the model, the next three images are different angles with the chandelier represented as well. The team is really geeked about this rug so I thought I'd show it to you again. Thanks for considering it. By the way it looks amazing with your new painting. The first one below in the set of 3 new painting. Don't you think? And i would look so great with your plaid pillow below.
