Neat idea to have 2 shorter islands - 1 for prep, one for eating, and both for storage.

I like a lot of things about this kitchen. The ceiling is super cool especially.

I like the ceiling and hanging pots. I realize we won't be able to do this at our new place.

What if, instead of having a dining room and dining room table, we had a larger island that doubled as a dining room table like in this photo? Could this work in the house's current dining room/living room area? With this idea, could we even bring back the mudroom idea?

Very creative way to increase counter space when needed!

I don't like stacking washer/driers but I do think this is a great use of space with having a kitty litter area and then even a dog wash area. Our dog wouldn't fit here so we couldn't use it, but it's still a smart use of space.
Q

Don't need the space for hampers but I like the usage of the side-wall for hanging clothes and corner cabinet for storage of detergent and whatnot.

Like the bar above the washer/drier for hanging clothes.

I realize we don't have a room like this in our house but I just think it looks neat and cozy.

If we don't end up using under the stairs as a kitty litter, this is a nice use of the space.

For toilet under the stairs, some shelving like this to hold TP or other items might be useful.

Like the stone and mantle. Would want stone to go all the way up the wall, though.

I realize this isn't a possibility at our house at all, but I just really love 2nd floors that open up to the 1st floor.

Like the wood beams on ceiling and backspace and colors. Probably too dark for us but I think this kitchen looks neat.
