Don't necessarily love the wall right away but if for some reason it's necessary, this is still very open, bright, feels like a good size entryway

Really like this idea...small foyer-ish area, doesn't take up too much space, but room for windows, maybe a bench, makes it feel pretty open, bright, & wide, then can jet back in for stairs if need be
