Color in Interior Design
Complementary Colors: The color palette includes red and green. These are complementary because red and green are opposite of each other on the color wheel. The room senses to be very classy and festive due to a significant shift in value due to a darker palette of color combine with the fact that red and green are associated with Christmas.
Split Complementary. The color scheme is composed of both warm and cool colors of different shades of green, tints of red with violet on top of a neutral background. It is split complementary because yellow green is opposite of the two colors split, red and violet. I think the colors of this room gives you an inviting experience of balance, through the bright and fun colors on top of a neutral base.
Analogous Colors Shades and tints of red, orange and yellow. The color scheme is composed of 3 colors that sit next to each other on the color wheel being red, orange and yellow. The color scheme makes the room feel relaxing because there is not a huge variation in the color palette and there is no strong contrast color. Since they are considered warm colors it make one relax and happy since the hue is in the same range.
Triadic Color: The colors used are blue, red, yellow and neutrals. This is a triadic color scheme because the tints of blue furniture, yellow walls and red accent are have a distance of three colors on the color wheel. The tone on this room is stable because the colors are in harmony with one another and consist of a light, medium and dark colors which adds balance.
Monochromatic: This room consists of shades and tints of yellow beige. It is considered monochromatic because its based on tints and shades of that single hue. Since yellow is a primary color it's the simplest hue for the eye to perceive such a warm color. The color scheme makes the room feel harmonious because it's the same throughout all the spaces. The color radiates a summer vibe that is a warm, soft, inviting and conservative.
High Key: This room has neutral colors of gray, white and beige. This room is High Key because of the amount of light reflected off the white and grey furniture which adds lots of brightness to the room. The neutral walls and flooring help to tone down the brightness of this room giving the atmosphere a positive and upbeat feel.
Low Key The colors present are shades of black and neutrals of beige, browns and light gray. This room looks very dark where there is an absence of light and makes the black appear dark gray. Thus, the Color Scheme that pops is low key due because of the tints and shades of black created by the dim lighting. The black, which is not a color, is the lowest possible value. The color scheme makes the room feel cozy and non distracting, just like the perfect quiet space to enjoy a movie.
