HL negative: super dark room, some dark furniture paired with white furniture. the color contrast of the dark table and chairs and the white furniture and painting don't really mix well. the scale of the amount of furniture in the room is also a little off. it looks crammed with both the dining room, chairs, and the little white desk thing. it seems like there are more than one focal point like competing for each other. the pictures on the walls, the table decoration, and the doorway are all strong pieces and I don't think they look subtle and soothing to the eye
AN Positive Critique- This image´s elements and principles of design are rhythms, by contrast, repetition, and asymmetry. The rhythm of contrast comes in with the coral pink flowers and little accents. The rhythm of repetition comes in with the same chandeliers and the zig-zags on the two chairs. The asymmetry comes in with the island and the cabinets being balanced but also different. I think the rhythm of contrast and the rhythm of repetition have positive impacts on each other because the contrast adds color and pop to what is already being repeated more than once. The asymmetry and repetition also go well together because the asymmetry is balanced and unbalanced at the same time but the repetition is consistent so it adds a balance. Rhythm by repetition and contrast also go really well together because in the slide we learned that repetition could be color as well and contrast is mainly color so it could be a repeated color. The rhythm of contrast as we know is color many times and asymmetry could be color but in this case, is used as furniture but they go together because color and furniture balance each other out. Overall I think all of the elements make this kitchen look gre...
AN Negative Critique- This images is a negative critique because it is very unbalance. The seating furniture is balanced but there is too much of it compared to the fireplace. As well the little white tables next to the pretty tall couch maybe if they were taller it would look more pleasing. The colors of the furniture are also not very pleasing together green and coral while everything else is neutral around the furniture. Overall, it is very unbalance size wise and the colors do not match what so ever. Fixing the colors and size would solve the problem because everything else it really nice looking.
HL radical balance: the chairs are placed around a circular fire pit, there are all placed in a circular sand put. not all the chairs are the same color and the toys are scattered causing asymmetrical balance. since they are based of circles, it makes this area appear more neat and organized. the accented blue chair and the toys add comfort because the level or organization isn't overbearing
HL emphasis: the focal point of this room would be the painting in the back. Its one of the only things in the room with multiple, bright colors. since a coach has an orange blanket, and the table had yellow decorations on it, it doesn't make the painting super bright and bold. it gives the room an appealing appearance because your eyes move across the room easily while giving the art attention.
HL this picture shows portion and scale. since the room is big, tall, and super spacious with small furniture, it makes the furniture look out of scale. the painting on the wall is also super big compared to the furniture its placed next to. the painting is also really brightly colored for the calm, relaxing setting of the room.
HL repetitiion is used in the colors, the lights, shelves, and stools. it had an appealing effect on the space because its nice and simple, there isn't too much movement because of the repeated colors and decorations. Even with the simpliciy, there is a nice variety of things for your eyes to move upon, like the plants.
HL, positive: this dining room has a really nice focal point. the room has symmetry with the chairs, dining table, and the shelves in front of it. There is good repeated rhythm with the shapes and colors being used. The focal point used is not too bold and big, its colors go well with the overall theme and it still draws your eyes towards it. There are different decorations on the shelves with makes the symmetric look not to overbearing and really subtle to your eyes. Lastly, the repeated rythim in the colors and shaped make the dining room easy to look at, its not messing and gives off a really clean look.
