Ibis Court
If you decide to go with a unit like this, you'll need to select a wall tile for the upper portion.
White subway tile is very popular for shower walls. It does some in lots of shapes and finishes. Some tiles have irregular edges, some are more rectangular and others are more square. I believe Jim uses Tileology in Beaufort as his tile supplier, so if you choose a shower stall insert that needs wall tile, I would recommend selecting a white subway tile from Tileology.
Floor tile that looks like wood is super popular right now. It comes in lots of colors and sizes including a "white washed" look. This tile is in long planks, like wood, but it also comes in squares, hexagons, etc. and also in colors that resemble wood...
Currently your house has 12" x 12" white floor tile in other bathrooms. There are lots of options in that size and color, so I'm sure Tileology has options in their showroom for you to consider. I would recommend putting your hands on a sample, just to make sure you are comfortable with the finish. Sometimes they are glossy, other times they have a matte finish so I always recommend looking at floor tile in person.
A wall tile that is similar to a subway tile but just a little different...
I also have a clients installing floor tile that is a hexagon shape instead of a square or rectangle - just to mix it up a bit and add interest.
This floor tile was recently installed in one of my client's kitchens and it is lovely. It's about as large as I would recommend in a bathroom, but the pattern keeps the scale small without all the grout joints of small tile.
Some "white tile" actually comes in a range of whites, so not every tile is exactly same the color. This is a wall tile and all the tiles are white, but some are more gray and some are more ivory and some are more white. Again, some clients prefer this to all one color as a way to add depth and interest...
Since you have a 54" wide vanity, I would recommend a light that is either 3 or 4 lights
Some clients prefer a single handle faucet in secondary bathrooms, others prefer a "wide spread / 8" spread faucet...and sometimes it's predetermined by the vanity top and how many holes are predrilled for the faucet.
Here is a vanity that's similar to what you have in the other bathrooms & the right size for the new downstairs bath. This one does not include a top so you could pick a white cultured marble top with integral sink bowl and any vanity faucet configuration you want (single handle, 8" wide spread, etc.)
This is truly what I envision in the attic. This is really what I like and hope we get to. GREAT!!
This is cool if bunks don't fit well.
YES! LOVE IT! Love this sink for the porch.
If bunks won't work, this is kinda cool.
GOTCHA! VERY MUCH LIKE THE BATHROOM PICTURE, THE WARMTH OF THIS SPACE IS IN THE FINISHES (COLORS, TEXTURES AND MATERIALS) SO YOU CAN ABSOLUTELY ACHIEVE THIS FEEL THROUGH YOUR SELECTIONS. I know this is too much but I love the hominess. If we had something in this flavor, the pool table could be moved up stairs for a more "fun" room.
I do want this shower door! YES! ME TOO! LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT TO GO WITH THIS TYPE OF SHOWER DESIGN, WHERE ONLY THE DOOR IS GLASS AND THE REST IS WALLED UP. THEY DO MAKE FIXED PANELS AND OPERABLE PANELS SO YOU CAN HAVE MORE GLASS BUT SOME CLIENTS PREFER MORE ENCLOSURE AND LESS GLASS. I CAN MAKE IT WORK EITHER WAY, BUT JIM WILL NEED TO KNOW HOW MUCH GLASS YOU WANT AT THE SHOWER. I LOVE this shower door.
LOVELY! THE CURRENT BATH DESIGN WORKS WITH THIS, IT’S ALL IN THE FINISHES. SHIPLAP WALLS. PATTERNED FLOOR TILE. DECORATIVE MIRROR WITH SCONCES. Simple and elegant for a bathroom but not enough counter space. AGREE THERE IS NOT ENOUGH COUNTER SPACE FOR 2 BR.
I like this slider door and the pocket shower. WOULD THIS WORK FOR ONE OF THE DOORS TO NOW HAVE SO MANY SWINGING DOORS?
I like this concept if we do W/D side by side.
I vote closed shelving. With kids in and out, the decoration element of open shelving losses some appeal for me! LOL! This is very much how the open shelves next to the shower in the new bath could work.
Shower with two walls of glass + two walls of tile...
This bathroom shows several of the current trends in bathrooms. Small/mosiac floor tile, tiling the wall behind the sink, tall backsplashes with a wall mounted faucets, vertical stack subway tile in the shower. Of course you don't have to incorporate any of these details, but this picture certainly shows a lot of the current trends all in one location!
Painting the walls and trim the same color is very popular right now, plus this bed is in front of the window. :)
These bunks are freestanding furniture meaning they were easy to add to the room after it was done..
Currently I'm getting a lot of requests for open shelves and shiplap walls in bathrooms. Very popular.
We are doing more and more white tile in interesting shapes and patterns, lots of white vanities and gray tops + pendant lights at vanities instead of sconces or can lights...
I'm also getting a lot of requests for blue vanities with white quartz countertops and/or accent walls in showers. Here they only left the door open (no glass walls).
When I saw this window seat, I thought of your dormers upstairs. The pendant light really adds to it...
More open shelves, though these also double as a way to divide off the toilet without separating the toilet into another room. Another current trend is gold/brushed brass for faucets, cabinet hardware, etc. We still use a lot of nickel, but black and gold are big in the current market.
Due to the low ceiling, they dropped these bunks down but the overall effect is nice and doesn't feel cramped despite the low ceiling
A small but comfortable bedroom. The accent wall does a great job of adding interest without overwhelming this space.
The design of these built-in bunks is simple but super effective...
This design is really nice.
A nice detail to add interest to a long run of stairs, especially to an informal family space.
The built-in storage between the bunks is a thoughtful addition to this space... LOVE THIS concept for upstairs. Gives some private space and a public area for a true kids zone
This kind of tv space has lots of potential - upstairs or downstairs.
A nice bunk room with twin beds over full beds
The wood shiplap paneling on these walls makes for super durable space that also feels coastal.
In your dormers upstairs, a window seat might be nice...
This room is detailed in such a way that the bunks are secondary to the living space which is an option for your upstairs space.
In the niche next to the shower, you could place a piece of furniture there instead of building in something permanent...
