Love the painted exposed beams. Painting the beams might be a maintenance problem though.

Finished chimney stack! We need to finish our chimney to coordinate with the stone or stacked stone we want on the lower portion of the house & addition.

Love the pillar detail; simple & clean.

Love the pillar detail on this. We need to do a Trex type of decking for low maintenance.

This porch looks to be about 8’ wide, maybe. This is the kind of casual look we're going for on the covered deck. Exposed beams gives it a kind of old-timey sort of feel.

I love the way the porch is joined to the roof. Also the front door appears to be a bit off-center (which ours is)...but they've added a side light to bring it more into center.

This looks so classy but somehow still casual. I think I'd rather do square posts/pillars just to keep the cost down.

The double pillars would add more pizzazz to our house...but square for our place.

Love how they blended the extension on the right with a covered porch on the left. Bill isn't sure about a metal roof though. Bedroom part of the addition doesn't need to have a bay window though.

The rail is too fancy for our place. But, the white rail sets off the rest of the house nicely and gives it character. This pic also show the corner of the covered porch. Shows covered porch with white railing and what looks like a Trex-like decking.

Nice simple steps and rail up to the porch deck.

This shows what the covered porch could look like on the back of the house. Last 3 pics are same house.
