BARNES INTERIOR
Managed to pull off the fireplace and TV together. Wonder if it is because the fireplace is silver metal and TV is black. (Leona: This feels a little bit awkward to me, and a bit cluttered. Also not a huge fan of the silver fireplace interior. I think that black looks slicker. TBH I find this room rather ugly.)
Really like how this gives the illusion of floating while not actually floating. Might be helpful for storage...
The niche and the bench are things we should consider in the master baths at least. The shower location here is a bit weird - but you can turn water on before you go under the shower head
The glass partition on the toilet is nice
This is nice and clean lines. Not sure about the raised area for the shower - probably to create space for the shower pan gradient
The contrasting counter and cabinet is interesting. Looks like 'wooden' tiles
Like the clean line and the large tiles. The tiles work on the floor. The right wall is too busy
Putting aside the colour of the stone, the integration of the wood is really nicely done. Not sure how this could be done but would look fantastic with the right colour combo (Leona: Wood and stone expand at different speed at different temperatures. I feel like this could potentially decrease the longevity of the counter. Also not loving the style of this kitchen – it feels dated.)
I like this pull out option - for appliances like my coffee machine
The wooden cabinets and the counter top works well
This is very well done. The wooden cabinet and the thick counter and waterfall works. However, still prefer a overhang and seating on the external side of the island. The wooden ceiling makes it all come together. (The lights are nice but would only work for a tall ceiling)
This is interesting. The wood and stone counter arrangement is controversial in the family but it works here. Also the wooded panel on the cabinets are nice. The very thick stone counter and the wod makes it work.
Wooden ceiling in kitchen. Like this. Why are the lights not recessed? Is it because of Halogen and heat? Could LEDs not be recessed?
Wood slats on ceiling - like the idea but not how its done here - a bit clunky with all the lights sticking out and gap between slats is too much
Our remodelled kitchen at Harvest. The waterfall counter turned out really well.
Our remodelled kitchen at Harvest
Our remodelled kitchen at Harvest. We love the drawer microwave from Sharp. Must find a way to get that here!!!
Anothe rexample of the recessed living room TV area - also shows why the TV needs to be hidden
This is a similar layout to Barnes. Somehow this really works. I like the very think counter. The single waterfall on one edge also works and highlights the wooden counter on the other edge. The overhang on the other end is good and you can sit around it. on the Like the long strip led over the counter - but it should have slim wiring. The darker counter shade works because the cabinets are dark.
Looking up - the glass panels fo upstairs retreat is what we should do at Barnes
Another great windowseat concept. Like the shelves on the walls but should be higher so you can lean back and sit against wall
This is the type of window-seat concept we want to have. The seat is at a comfortable seating height with storage built in. The cabinets underneath are slightly recessed and not flush with the top edge. Reading light scones on both side walls. Also recess on top surface so cushions don't slide off. (The window here is all the way down to the seat - nice if that is doable)
The bbq setup is similar to Barnes. The outside sink feels like a good idea. Maybe work considering for Barnes because the plumbing is all on that side anyway.
Anther view
This looks like a very inviting setup. Lik ethe use of the recessed area. But why is the fireplace offset - somehow that's doesn't work. At Barnes the fireplace could be central and TV should be hidden. Ples the seat is a window seat and should have cushions and storage.
Similar clean lines to Barnes. Looks like induction cooktop? don't like the sink in the island - we should have clean and unbroken counter top- no sink or cooktop. Don't like the counter pattern - a bit too busy
Another option for how to hide the TV in the living room with cabinetry. Like the open shelves on the side. Like the built in lighting.
Like this type of door - simple and clean and all the way to ceiling
Like these stairs
The key thing here is that the short walls in the upstairs retreat area in Barnes should be glass
Similar layout to Barnes design. Its all too white and lab like. Contrasting wood cabinets on the bottom and 'modern white' on top like Harvest would look much warmer and inviting.
Really like this sitting nook. In the alfresco area, we have to think about the interior walls of that area - could be wood like this. Our nook is open but similar concept. Like the edging on the nook.
Clean lines and island design similar to our Harvest house. Like the wood cabinet on the island. This is laminate but wonder if we can get real wood like we have at Harvest.
Different view of the option where the TV is hidden. At Barnes the TV area is recessed - can we think of a way to hide the TV when not in use? (Location of TV and fireplace here is not ideal - the TV is too high and don't like it over fireplace.)
Living room option - the TV is hidden in the woodwork behind paneling. Not sure how its done but it stops TV from becoming main feature. Ceiling is acoustic plasterboard : Atkar: atkar.com.au/architectural/
Like this type of dual sink and counter. Also like the height on the taps (could also be curved)
