Photo from a listing in Prospect. This house design might be too rustic/luxurious, but the open floor plan from kitchen through dining and living is nice, is a good example. Like the concept, but this is a 6500 square foot home so ours would be scaled down. The stairs/entry create some separation from dining to living. I do like the exposed beams, but we might not finish with wood paneling in between and might use fewer beams.
Utilize Moroccan tile in features bathroom (like main living area power room)
Our condo. This shower uses a standard size acrylic base but makes the shower larger by adding the shelve for shaving and bottles. We used Moroccan tiles for the floor. Black fixtures mixed with stainless hardware.
RM: love this shower - would give up the double shower head for this kind of set up
Freestanding tub! Needs to be long for a 6’1” adult.
Add shower grab bars that don’t look like grab bars into any shared bathroom shower.
RM: Chris could finally achieve his dream of a murphy bed - maybe this could be a sleep solution in the loft area next to the kids' room? KM: I ALWAYS wanted a Murphy bed too!!! You can put one in our room. AM: good option to create an flex space: office or bedroom
Murphy bed set up for flex office / bedroom
This type of bunk configuration would allow taller teenagers or adults to still be comfortable on bottom bunk while top bunk is a stick twin
RM: really like this bunk bed set up and look - good for the kids as they get older
Would like to find a lighter shade vinyl floor like this
Good dark brown door stain example. Would do with white trim to make it a bit more modern
Our condo. May reuse these vinyl floors as they don’t show show dirt and scratches and are very durable. Note the aluminum chairs are also durable for renters.
Our condo. Would like to use wood trim/paneling to mix up with the drywall.
White shiplap painted with semi gloss plaint would be a durable finish in high traffic areas
Tile surround on fireplace. Also like the lighter stain on the exposed lumbar.
Love exposed beams
Floor tile pattern very cool
Gravel fire pit area
Circular patio with fireplace. Fireplace side could provide some privacy if needed
Example of building straight up 3.5 floors would look like. It’s not as aesthetically nice.
Black windows with white trim. Color pop on door. KM: But will it 'date' the structure?
Natural light coming into lower level from retaining wall. Could do this on the back of the house. Might be too expensive though?
Laundry basket shelves is a good idea
Hanging rod above washer and dryer is useful
Sink in mud room is useful. Add laundry to make it a combined mud & laundry area.
North Village will be across Gothic ave. Winterset intersects Gothic Ave at parcel F.
Exposed ceiling in basement is cool. No idea if it is a good idea though. Does it get too dusty?
