TLC Team - What do you like about this photo are the plants of interest, the framing of the entrance? Structure of the landscape is as important as the plant material. We believe that establishing flow patters, framing public and private spaces combined with engineering of water management isthe key to long term sucess of enduring environments. I don’t necessarily like the plant selection in this photo just the placement.
I like the vibrant colors of different flowers TLC Team- This is definitely achievable with the right plants here in CO. This is lovely and achievable on our sites. The cultivars must be very specifc and plants will need to be massed differently for ultimate sucess but we have many vibrant colored perrennials that sucess here. My Favorite look! It has a bit of structure and a bit of wild and natural.
I like the ever greens in the back ground with a mix of low plants in front. TLC Team- Wonderful! - A vignette of plant material from low to high in height with a mixture of textures creates the illusion of space dynamics. However we need to be very specific about the plant material use here. We are at elevation 5000 feet and while we have had success with this plant palette the plants will be much smaller and overlapped to achieve success. The drying winds make arbor vitaes a non sustainable solution here. We have other evergreens that are successful long term here in Colorado .
Might need some type of steps on the garage side of house. TLC Team- Stone slab steps would work great with the large boulder effect as well. We have noted that the flow is smoother from the entrance around the west side of the house. Design integration of flow patterns , framing and view corridors is essential to the long term value of the completed project. Beautiful!
TLC Team- Plantings enhance your experience as you approach the front entry. In this home we built the open gable which did not exist before and added an intentional entrance. With plant beds framing the homes entry. This a applicable to your site because of the asymmetric approach to the homes front this is similar to your home.
A little punch of yellow but not much.
