I find this house to be bizarrely impressive especially when you see pictures of the inside. But, look through the heavy timbers in the over built construction and see the stone base that ties into the landscape.
This starts to be the layout CONCEPT for your living room.
Rustic but refined exterior
Looking at ceilings to determine what character we want to incorporate....is this too rustic or heading in the right direction? I I’m not a fan of how the recessed lights come off in this scenario just FYI.
Great functional laundry area
A little too rustic, lol. It reminds me of the Flintstones
Open stair along edge of room with storage under
So many styles of stone fireplaces...rustic to very refined. This a bit of a mix. Refined rustic. Lol.
I’m including this because I am thinking that if we end up with exposure on the down slope that having some kind of stonework might be a way to blend it into the landscape and also not necessarily have a walkout basement
Different shingle style than Nantucket. Very woodland appropriate
Is this too rustic?
Good Example of Having the second floor project out over the first floor to create some sun protection
Lower garage...stairs to main entrance
Some interesting landscaping possibilities. Does this look too rustic for what you are envisioning?
Possibly Use stone facing on exposed parts of garage to tie into landscape
Extra storage under the island where stools can go...with sink area facing out to view.
Barn house. Metal roof. Board and batten siding. Simple form .
Make transition areas upscale with beautiful details and finish trim
Corner sitting area on island
I like the sitting arrangement at the end of this island. It feels more intimate to be facing each other vs strung out in a line
This concept for an island ( that you can really eat at) but put eating end closer to glass and view.
Open concept. I had early thoughts of shed roof with lots of glass towards the view
Living room concept...big window, sectional with part so you can sit facing view and L facing fire place.
Indoor shower that lets outdoors in?
Do you like the idea/ look of this style at all? Very much NOT Nantucket venacular
Beautiful, graceful yet understated entry. Have great ceiling fixture.
Different way to incorporate the breakfast bar. Better as a space to actually dine with another person vs. being stretched out
Love the concept of this. One large open space that is yet broken down in a way that each utilization claims it’s own architectural variant.
Note the entrance to this kitchen from the side mudroom. And also appliances stacked on the non-window wall
Interesting idea to consider a two-part island one to go to to cooking and or the sink area and then a separate one just for seating that you can use like a table in that it’s not just on one side so when you sit you can look at each other and converse
I like the simplicity of the shaker cabinets with the simple black hardware
Kitchen open to the outdoors ie windows looking out. Consider larger windows with less obstruction of panes.
Interesting how they situated on the landscape
Large windows open to view...but some trees that create feeling of enclosure and being in the woods.
Inspiring. Bedroom in the woods/ treehouse. Break barrier between inside and out.
Sitting area at end of island. If the dining area wasn’t there and this whole thing was closer to the view.
Small dining...big island..big windows that will capture view you can see from kitchen and island
Link garage to house?
Love this front porch
Of these two facades/ building styles which one more closely emulates the idea of your house
How to deal with slope/ level changes in terms of landscaping
