Petrenko Residence
some gas inserts are fairly convincing looking. This is one.
I love white but so fascinated by this new trend/CDJ_Funny that it's "new" now as it' comes fr mid-century/60's design. Very in right now but will fade soon. Feel like it's not the best fit for your house although I do love it also. Maybe best to apply it to an island that can be swapped out in the future.
Turns out I saved 3 pics from the same bathroom... haha/CDJ_This has a nice transitional feel - vanity and brass hardware have historic references but is floating with modernizes it. Beautiful wood but I a bit thrown off by it here. Earthy touch I suppose.
Stan liked this
Charmed by the floors/ CDJ_Agree. Love it!
Stan also liked this/ CDJ_Love the shower enclosure for you. Have to ask you if you want shower or bath in master?
Materials
Saving for that dark stone wall
CDJ_This english cottage feel is a nice reference point for your house - it's an easy alliance with a 1940's house and adds a richness in detailing
Like the cabinet
White has been in for so long but I’m a sucker for a photo like this. Maybe it’s the high ceilings and light/CDJ_Beautiful. Timeless. Seems like you like a traditional cabinet and classic materials - ie. marble. Yes?
KP- I like the floors (nothing else)
Drawn to lighter floors/CDJ _Agree
This is neat but I’m not a huge fan/CDJ_Got it. Not for everyone.
built in book shelves
wood stove in lieu of fireplace
Modern wood burning stove KP- we’re not loving the wood burning stove- prefer a different look + not wood burning
KP- I like the white beams and black windows. We both like this a lot/CDJ_This is a great fit for your house. Love the black windows and doors. Oversized lamp fun and modern too without the modern touch being too heavy handed.
Modern addition - window wall. KP- Stan liked this space a lot
Modern Addition - floor to ceiling glass
Palette - Love this for you. Would work well with 1940's style. KP- feels a little rustic/ CDJ_Agree
Color scheme
Materials. KP- the fireplace feels very dated
This all white approach is very sympathetic to your 1940's home and works well with the amount of light you have at the back of the house. KP- I like it /CDJ_Love the exposed ceiling deck (slats) for you.
Ceiling. KP- this ceiling is so beautiful - it really jumped out to me immediately
Gable roof end not on same wall as fireplace as you will have. KP- don’t love this
You will have windows on long wall and fireplace on end wall as well
Dark floors/traditional white cabinets. Love black hardware and potentially more for your home KP- I love black hardware.
Aluminum wall off doors open up. KP- very cool, but we get a ton of bugs in the summer so I can’t see myself ever opening it like this. Unless it was to a screened in porch
Clean white open/warm wood kitchen. KP- very drawn this
Master Bath design can go in a variety of directions - modern simple is one. KP- I don’t love the colors but seems very relaxing
Master Bath design can go in a variety of directions - transitional is one. KP- floors are a little busy but I like the black glass door and the fixture. Stan is not a fan of these tubs unless they have Jets... haha
Master Bath design can go in a variety of directions - quirky but clean hybrid is another. KP- I like the color/fixture in the shower but the floor isn’t my favorite
Master Bath design can go in a variety of directions - quiet traditional. KP- this is nice, but I’m not obsessed
