Close: 36" vertical grab bar east wall entry/main shower fall prevention. 36”(pref) or 32" (depends on studs) horizontal grab bar on east wall below lever temp/volume control. Bench along west wall. See nook image. 36" wand slide bar (bottom approx 16" above & slightly forward of bench on south wall) for shoulder immob & diff height & usage of wand. 36" diagonal grab bar south wall provides increased stability for sit/stand/sit transfers.
Continued: All Grab bars mounted to wall studs. 2nd volume control (lever style-decrease wrist torque) near bench for Indept Disabled shower. Overhead shower, see build.com; 6 function diverter to run multiple shower fixtures all at once and/or individually as needed. 2 large Hooks (his/hers) bench reach for 3 tools each, long handled (LH) brushes, LH sponges, Long handled lotion applicators. 36" Towel Rack west wall..
Nice colors on stonework. Not sure how we would use this. Pavers might be useful. (M) This would make a beautiful stone bench near the hot tub. Gorgeous fire pit for the yard someday! Pale blue covering for the south porch floor.
This looks interesting. Clear coat on the wood ? Pastels and simple. This is in the direction we are looking for. (M) I like the colors in the rug (blue and magenta); pretty decorative bench, but I can't make out the pattern design.
Peach color can look good in combination with the right tile, etc. (M) Thank you Courtney, but this is too much desert southwest for me. I did not envision our master suite or any part of our home as desert southwest.
Wall Nook might be useful. (M) This is cool; it will create a maintenance issue for Curtis-dusting.
SOUTH PORCH idea. Exposed rafters, beams and decking boards. Should make porch more spacious and grand entrance look more grand ! Wood can be clear coated, stained, or painted (TBD). Facilitates putting vent on south porch side, or fresh air intake on the exposed wall. Wall makes for good seal with open cell foam insulation. Should be low maintenance due to totally out of sun exposure.
High cabinet nook for display items. We may or may not want this. But does provide an option for high level cabinets that close the gap with the ceiling. (M) Very nice, would require plain glass doors to prevent dust collection. Backsplash and counter are too yellow and busy. I like the modern microwave in cabinet. Curtis is concerned about a microwave dying and a new one not fitting the space. Beautiful wood cabinets!
Built Ins with pastel background. Nice contrast and not too bold. We should consider this for Curtis' Office if not also in other areas. (M) Your office.
Open up West Porch, using a black powder coated aluminum rail and eliminate the 24" thick walls. Put in engineered wood ceiling to dress up this private porch area. (M) railing instead of stone to increase size & openness of porch and high ceiling to open the porch is good.
Consider wall paint and trim from desert southwest theme. Choose floor tile consistent with that theme, but not the really rough tile sometimes used in desert southwest theme.
Door type, tile, paint, etc consistent with colors of desert southwest. Door style can be used on double doors to bathroom and to closet. (M) The floor is yellow, just say, "No". Love the window and the transom. I agree with the door pattern for bifold doors as a compromise.
Desert southwest colors. Painted wall trim could include upper bands of magenta, cyan, etc. as used by Indian tribes of the southwest, historically. (M) Pale blue wall is OK. Let's remember elegance and not get carried away with a busy pattern.
Note ceiling wood and tile on floor in porch area. Using railing will open up the West porch and accent the columns, make them seem taller. The sliding glass door may be a way to get back to more glass, with an acceptable means to close off with a nice curtain. Would still want upper transom. (M) Agreed on the glass door and transom with pastel black out curtain.
light color theme, orb chandelier over island with touch of crystal (M) Not a fan of the color in the chandelier
Glitzy border trim and accent tile; would like to have mother of pearl tile somehow if I could find it as an accent tile because it's fairly expensive.
Nice glitzy trim and accent tiles on gray tub side; this room is way too yellow
Beautiful Mother of Pearl, would like to use this as an accent in the master bathroom...possibly in the shower.
Small chandelier in closet
I would like mirrors on the closet side of the master closet doors.
(M) It would be nice to have an accent pattern; we'll need 36" towel racks to hang 2 bath sheet (towels) (C) Floor accept could be chosen from desert southwest theme. (M) Agreed for pastel tones focusing on blue and magenta without subtle southwest design, not bold.
chandelier in closet. I have in mind a smaller chandelier for our smaller master closet. I like the built in shelves/drawers for closet with glass in doors, no lattice
chandelier in bathroom
multiple nooks in shower
chandelier in bathroom
chandelier in bathroom
Chandelier in bathroom, not this expensive one, but smaller one
(C) Dark stone trim on arch. May be useful on the porch entry leading to the entry door. (M) What do you think, Courtney?
Dark Stained Mahogany door should contrast limestone (as it does in this picture), while matching the dark bronze metal work on the house.
(M) This drain basin is nice. I would like a really deep sink so I can clean big pots such as the 10 quart Instant Pot.
Courtney, this follows your idea. Shower stall on NW wall with Jacuzzi beside it. Curtis can access two designated maintenance areas. Our shower would still be ADA; shower bench would run along the E side of shower stall. This bench placement & stall wall will prevent any water from entering the area below the Jacuzzi which was part of the objection to the "wet area". Please discuss tomorrow.
Shower bench along back of shower with shower wand, slide bar or clasp, hand controls, and a lower shower nook for seated access. We would also want regular height nooks as well.
Drawer within a drawer. Separates small things from larger pots and pans. Simplifies the carcass and makes it look less complex from the exterior of the cabinet.
We would like a Celtic pattern etched on the glass pane of the entry door.
I like the range hood cover and how it is integrated into the cabinets. This is better than my suggestion on the interior drawing sheet.
Pale blue bathroom wall; white wooden shutters, chandelier
Pale blue wall
(M) Love this electricity pull out for the Island
Storage option for lower cabinet southeast corner?
Beautiful floor
(M) I like the hidden coffee bar .
(M) I like all the electrical outlets along the counter top.
(M) We like the sunburst in the arched transom and will have to ask Michael to add this to all arched transoms: entry, studio, studio window, master bedroom door transom, and the arched transom over the jacuzzi in master bath. As for granite: I need to see some in person; I prefer a hint of color, blue or sea green.
Another hidden cabinet for the Keurig, accessories, and toaster.
Deep kitchen sink with faucet, spray nozzle, and RO faucet.
We have the dishwasher, then the sink, then people sitting on the north end of the island. Maybe we have a chrome exterior pull out trash bin south of the dishwasher. Pull out towel bar is needed for 2 towels (hand drying towel and dish drying towel)...maybe on the right side of the sink? Or maybe on the trash bin handle? No to the lights, granite, and floor.
