So after talking with you on the phone the other day, I think I may be back at white cabinets (you're going to have to help me with which color white!) but with tan/coffee/ginger colored countertops. This kitchen is from 94 Elm Place and was built by TR Building and Remodeling. Cabinets are Alpine White with perused oak floating shelves and Ceaserstone "Ginger" countertops. I also really like the backsplash (Wood-grain porcelain tile by Walker Zanger, nature white, 6"x47" tile, installed horizontally in a staggered bond pattern.
I started looking back at photos of kitchens I liked and realized that even some of the kitchen that I thought were white, really had kitchen cabinets that were light greige or off white colors so I started moving in that direction but had a terrible time choosing a greige color and I was afraid of making a mistake. The next couple of photos are of kitchens with greige cabinets.

Cabinets are F&B Shaded White. This is the modern Belgian farmhouse on Kelley Green in New Canaan that I love. Of all the houses I've seen on the New Canaan House Tours, your house on Wahackme and this house on Kelley Green have always been my favorites. But I feel like this kitchen look is great because of all the special touches that I couldn't afford like the metal hood, unique backsplash and natural wood island.
I also thought about having white outer cabinets with a darker countertop paired and a darker painted island with white countertops. Sherwin Williams SW7019 Gauntlet Gray on island.
Another greige cabinet look I liked. I also like the sconces above the windows and have wired the kitchen for scones above the two windows on either side of the hood and above the double windows over the sink.
As for dining tables, I really like a natural wood table. I love this round table, these chairs, and this is lighting fixture. Unfortunately, even though I love the intimacy of a round table, I think we may have to go with a rectangular table so that we can expand seating to 12+ during holidays with family.
Although this is not a natural wood table, I've always loved the Saarinen Tulip table too. Again, I don't think a round dining table will work for hosting holidays and dinners but it's nice to look at!
Another option maybe
This is a kitchen my builder built (18 Tonetta Circle in Norwalk). These cabinets are BM Decorator White. I have the same cabinet maker and I've asked that the island be similar to this one (grounded vs with legs so that it looks like a piece of furniture like you will see in the next photo).
