My Project
This bedroom is quite large, probably too large. Posted this for lighter floors to give a bigger look. Not sure?? I tend to like the darker floors. Same floors throughout house. In the bathrooms I will probably go vinyl. Counter tops will be very middle of the line. Kohler fixtures. No funky ceilings. Nice lighting.
This is the family room. Really like the windows. 8 windows in the front of the house. LR on right or left. Kitchen opposite. Now I have to figure out where the bedroom goes. I think this house could be like the first level of our Diamond Court minus that big family room and minus steps going upstairs. We could have a powder room off the garage and a small walk-in closet. Possible 10 foot ceilings to open up the house more and have longer windows. Keep in mind the southern exposure of the lot. If LR and kitchen in front, you lose the sun.
Add a two car garage to this kitchen. Some modifications to the kitchen, but you see what I have in mind. One bedroom and master bath up. Small powder up. Toilet and sink in basement. Very small. Washer and dryer in basement. Shouldn't need more than 1600 sq ft. High ceilings throughout house. Pre-finished wood floor. Ross' office in safe room in basement. Garage and Master could be offset from the rest of the home to give a better look. Have a pic I can share with you. To make it look bigger garage comes in off the end or back so can have windows in the front. Makes the house look bigger.
This house is big from the back, but the front has a decent look. Not perfect. Would want to style that up around the entrance. Would have to have nicer windows. Could be a longer ranch, but more narrow on the inside to cut down on square footage. Have a more dramatic roof (grey) and maybe a grey/white brick. Blends in with the nature. In order to do this, we have to have nice, but have to cut back on size. Taxes are just too high otherwise. Also, the expense of the home will be a bit lower. Steve, if the price is just too high, maybe we could look for a condo. I would want it new. I like the idea of being around family more. Thanks for all your help. :). I'm having doubts that Pat can build the Druid even with the cuts we would make for the price range.
Very expensive in stone, but narrow! At the end of the drive it would be pretty. Might be cheaper than the big ranch if it was brick instead of stone. Of course, smaller in size. This is huge. It is very pretty but would look quite retarded in a corn field?
