Fab windows with loads of light
Work a walk-through When Zulufish renovated the second floor of this period townhouse, the design turned the entire floor into a beautiful suite. Before the renovation, there was a bedroom and a large bathroom on one floor. Now, the bedroom – at the front of the house, and visible in the antiqued, mirrored door here – opens onto this ‘corridor’ of elegant cupboards, forming a glamorous walk-in dressing area. The grooved, handleless doors, which almost look like lavish, pleated curtains, lead to the mirrored wall at the end, which opens onto a bathroom.

Cute wallpaper- Delicate pastel wallpaper with a gentle pattern repeat helps to add charm and warmth to a vintage room. If you’re going to paper, however, don’t miss out any walls – feature walls are too contemporary for this look. You could, however, mix and match complementary papers on different walls.
why not break out and have the inside of your cabinets in a different shade of wood? This lovely kitchen offers an unexpected surprise when the doors to one of the overhead cabinets are flung open. Inside we see a wonderfully rich shade of walnut, which makes the white crockery inside really stand out. Why not go one step further and customise the inside of your cabinets with wallpaper? Adding your own touch to the back of glazed overhead cabinets would transform the kitchen from standard issue to a personal style statement.
Make space for jars If you’re planning to buy package-free dry goods, you’ll need a place to store them. Lock-tight jars are ideal for decanting food items such as pasta, pulses and sugar, but make sure they’re easy to access and not stacked on top of each other. The drawer in this kitchen designed by Roundhouse is ideal, as the jars can easily be taken out without knocking each other over. You could also label the lids, so you can see at a glance what’s inside.
