Roseburg Landscaping
This is a possible angle toward a deck below our lawn level. We have a number of big oak trees that we don’t want to take out. We can’t backfill the drop-off with dirt which would surround the tree bases and kill them eventually. But it would be possible to build a deck around several of them that are in the best view area in the backyard.
Something like this would be wonderful, if we weren’t sandwiched in between wonderful neighbors on each side of us. This kind of structure would fill so many of our “wants”, but would completely destroy the view of our neighbors to the left (of the picture).
This is more what we think we will need to do on the drop-off from our lawn level to the river. Terracing with landscaping blocks to one or more other levels. A deck somewhere. At this point, we don’t know how high the river will rise in the winter, so don’t want to plan a big deck or decks lower than our lawn level that might be washed away when the river rises after a winter of rain.
If you put this deck straight out from our lawn level, over the drop-off to the river, or terrace the drop-off and put the deck down 3-4 feet from our lawn level, this might be a nice solution to our being able to view the river.
While the waterfall is nice, we really don’t need a water feature since we’re on the river, but the rock terracing below a deck is a potential solution.
This is overkill, but it’s a potential shred of an idea for our backyard and access to the river below.
Maybe a variation on this deck on piers over a drop off to the river.
See-through fencing for deck in the backyard over a drop-off down to the river.
Deck overlooking river
Like the under tree arrangement.
